You have to be smart to get around firewalls! Put a discription of a proxy in google without usng the actual word because it will obiously filter it out.

I spent about 20 minutes on google filtering out the domains of sites offering these services. I'd imagine his technician has done the same....especially in a school environment

You mean HTTP-Tunnel?

If so, you're not invisible on the network; you're still assigned an IP address from the DHCP server and tunnelling will usually throw up some errors in the Event Log on whatever server they're using there.

Feel free to use it, but use it with respect. Things like youtube won't work because of the flash, but forums, ebay etc. all work. There are no adverts and it's fast.
