  1. hello My friend has given me his bike to try sort it out and the bottom bracket is shot. The bottom bracket is in a steel frame and wont shift, DOES ANYONE have any ideas of how to get this thing out?? I've been suggested to bolt the BB tool onto the bottom bracket and then hold the tool in a bench vice and use the frame as the lever.. I haven't tried this method yet but i would appreciate any smat ideas. thanks guys

    Seats

hello, for the last few years ive had an echo frame, and because of the style of the frame have gone with the small minimal plastic seat.. riding from weymouth to portland the other day, some of u may know how far that is, i realised how much i missed having a saddle so i could sit down. is there any smallish saddles on the market? i think onza used to do a small saddle i think.

    Rear Mech

hey there, if you manage to get the remains of the barrel adjuster out of the mech....fit another one, one off an old SIS mech are better because they are solid steel. (stronger) Then...get a piece of cable inner, cut to about 1-2 inches and poke it through and set the trials gear(normally top one) so that when the adjuster is out at the most that seems safe. YOU DONT HAVETO DO THIS IF U ONLY WANT ONE GEAR - in which case screw it in all the way. by doing this you can change down a few gears, always good when u haveto get about from place to place. hope this helps, ive never known anyone else to do it.
  6. yeah mate its fine, i used enamel paint, (youre on about those little tins for airfix kits right?) i painted half of my brakes bright orange, much like the old tomacs you got on the montys. no problem at all!
  7. alright mate Yeah you can put maggies on U-brake mounts. I bought a magura off a mate once for a tenner and thought i might fit it to the bmx. You haveto turn the mounts the other way round though, and if i remember rightly, you haveto file the mounts so that they fit. Took a while, but u might be lucky and not even havewto file them. If you want a booster, it should be easy enough to work out how to fit that. hope that helps :turned:
