  1. Only when the ball and chain is having one of her episodes and vases start mimicking olympic javelins.....
  2. Where do you suggest I have it welded (as in workshop, not on frame)? Would a regular welding shop do (there is a place just down the road from here that does motorbike chassis welding) or should I take it to a proper cycle shop. Only problem with a proper cycle shop type place is there arent really any around here that deal in trials gear and none that do welding of any kind
  3. It would seem that the crack is by a weld near the headtube, where the bottom tube meets the top tube. Its not all the way around but goes just the width of the weld. The chainstay crack is about 5mm long, starting at a pre-drilled hole and working along. According to the seller its been fine with his riding for the last 6 months, neither crack has got any bigger. I think I might go for it and then when it breaks Ill just buy another second hand frame. Its the best deal Ive been offered so far by a long way. Thanks for all the info folks, its really useful and your all very helpful
  4. Thanks for the info folks. Ive been offered the whole bike for £160, the rest of the spec is pretty good. Im on a really tight budget and Im not too bothered about learning huge gaps and drops, just really having a mess around and getting some exercise. They have put in a new sea wall where I live with loads of rocks so the whole area looks like some good riding terrain. P.S. Has anyone got any opinions on Monty 219 ALP's? Ive been offered one for £70. Standard spec but its fairly old, standard V's etc. I can only find info on the new ones on the internet and they are mainly manufacturer stuff, nothing really from any riders.
  5. Someone has offered me a frame which has two small cracks in it. The rest of the componentry on the bike is quite good. The frame has cracked just behind the headtube and again on the chainstay. The seller says that he's been riding it for 6 months and its still holding, its a Koxx Levelboss Would it be strong enough to last learning the basics on? Im not going to be doing any mental drops or massive gaps on it. My idea being to ride the frame until it breaks and then replace just the frame and transfer the other parts across. Anyone got any opinions or advice on this? Ta
  6. if you run a google search on Oolite you can download a version of the game that will work on new PC's using OpenGL. Its pretty much the same as the original only now you can download extras from the website and implement them into the game. Its had me hooked for months!
  7. Im suprised no one has mentioned Elite or Elite 2 yet so I will...top games that are so simple yet so entertaining, kept me going for hours
  8. Hmm, Half-life is a must for any gamer. Its an oldie but damn its so good!! In my flat at the moment we have Burnout Revenge keeping us entertained on the multiplayer front, get a load of beers in and 4 people on that and its loads of fun. Timesplitters series is also worth a look, single player and multi player are both pretty entertaining. Some of the challenges are hilarious, especially the duck hunting ones where you have to kill 100 ducks in a stupidly short amount of time.
  9. if you like d'n'b I can recommend: Calibre - The Best Of just got it and its amazing
  10. hmm, I never stick to these but might as well try as for most of them I actually have a good reason for doing it Get fit - needed for kitesurfing and riding...oh yeah, and physio Try harder with girls - because Im sick of being a lonely old b*****d Learn to ride - because Im sick of sitting on my arse not doing anthing when Im not studying Be nicer - Im too much of a c**t to people Study more - Already got 2 1st's on my first essays, want to keep it up Learn a new language - help's me more after Uni with the line of work Im going into that lot will probably last to the 2nd week in February at most...if I can even be arsed to start them in the New Year

if you get a newer one its worth looking on the Apple refurbished site, they have some pretty good deals on there, especially if you choose something like the macmini as you can run your existing PC monitor on it and they hardly take up any space.
