    Vans

Don't even need tools with my van (MK2 Scudo), PSA group were good enough to build in a feature where you can prise the side door away from the body in one corner, which triggers the central locking to unlock. No damage to the vehicle required to steal everything. 👌
  2. Nightmare that. If you've got legal cover on your own insurance policy though, they'll have lawyers etc that can represent you against the trade insurance company and are bound to be able to get you a proper settlement. Then you can buy it back from the insurance company, fix it up yourself or have the garage do it, and likely have a nice fat wedge left over afterwards.
  3. This helpful old bean made a video about the best technique.
  4. Doesn't look like he ever finished it, but he did put up a video last year (coimplete with outstanding wizard sleeve action) made from old footage that looks like it was for Antitron 5:
  5. Not quite a manual dream, but I have had dreams about being able to wheelie motorbikes forever.

This sort of bullshit is why I've been with Plusnet for 6 years. After the initial 18 month thing ran out, they price stayed roughly the same and always has. No extended contract, no messing about. It's actually got a bit cheaper over the years and it's still their top package.

Oh yeh don't worry, only my cotton gym stuff goes in at 60. Synthetics have a seperate wash at 40. (Says 30 on them but it doesn't actually work, they got really stinky so I switched to 40. No shrinkage yet).

Since the pandemic, I've been working from home full time so I've become extremely well aquainted with our washing machine. 30 degrees is basically a rinse, the clothes smell fine when they come out, but they get stinky way faster than if I do them at 40. My gym clothes have to go in at 60 though. Temperature seems to be more important than the length of the cycle, so I solely use the 45min quick wash. It's more important to get the clothes properly clean so you can wear them twice IMO and thus cut your washing volume down by 50% (apart from underwear and socks, that would be grim). Good luck to you.
  9. I've also got them, with a layer of carpet over the top. Much more gentle and warm on the knees while you're working on winter projects.
  10. Congrats! Good choice of day, also my birthday.
  11. Definitely police job IMO, get him slapped with an asbo. That way if anything escalates, or he does similar to other people, they can deal with it appropriately. Might not bother you but what about his 95 year old neighbour that lives alone?
  12. I also just built a new system with a 5600X! I've gone with a Gigabyte Aorus B550i motherboard, 64gb of Patriot Viper Steel RAM (I did actually use up all 32gb in my old computer regularly), a second hand 1080ti and a 2tb Corsair MP610 SSD. Case is a Lian LI TU-150 - lovely little ITX case. It's on air cooling for now but hopefully won't be for long. My old computer (picture attached) is just sat there now though looking sorry for itself. Not sure what I'm going to do with it... It's got an Intel 5820k CPU, 32gb of RAM, dual GTX960 in SLI with custom hybrid coolers, loads of mods to the case to make the mid plate and the plates to mount the rads, everything overclocked about as far as it'll go, and this new build is about 2-4x the framerate in all games with one GPU with nothing overclocked.
  13. I hate it, I was trying for a 3070 and in the end I gave up a bought a Strix 1080ti from a mate for £360 instead. Price was pretty fair really, and it's 3-4x the FPS of my old GTX 960 in most games so I'm happy enough.

    Covid19

Glad most of you are coping alright other than Mike, hope things improve a bit for you soon mate. I'm lucky to also have a job I can do remotely, and it turns out it suits me much better if I do. Certainly much better for my head than going to an office full of fake smiley hyper-extroverts every day. (My company has loads, the ones that interrupt you for very minor questions that could be in an email, but they spend 5 mins first asking about your weekend but then don't care about the answer). The biggest thing for me is not riding my motorbikes, that's been my main hobby for the last 5 years or so. I'm used to riding one of them every day (commuting), but now I'm WFH and I don't want to risk going to hospital or adding strain to the NHS, so they're just sitting there. I've got back into going walking though and PC gaming again so it's not all bad. Just getting itchy feet because there's no adrenaline associated with walking about or sitting down. It's really weird how it does feel like an addiction, like craving chocolate mid-january when trying to shift the christmas belly.

    Covid19

Hello old friends, it's been a while. Anyone else shockingly bored yet?
  16. Glad to see you've still got it @Tom Booth, I remember getting my daily updates over MSN back when it was NA!

I'm still here from time to time. Still opposing those who attempt to wear it out.
  18. Rude boi. I read somewhere that the extra weight causes pretty bad understeer?
  19. I love them! Fancy a project one at some point but for now I just want to keep them nice. Fitted my bluetooth stereo and wired in a mic last night so I can use the phone through the stereo now. (So useful). This is my third one. Had a green 1998 1.3l GX 5 door, then a 2001 1.0l 3 door poverty spec thing (very gutless when towing my bikes on the trailer), but then the other day a 2002 1.4l 5 door SE+ came up. Every option on it you could get, and the underside has been painted with oil every year to protect it. 50k miles on it so I'm made up to get it for £300. Many years of life left in this one! Only downside is the paintwork, but I can live with that. It's pretty quick with 85hp or so. Just need to get the towbar swapped from the old car to the new one and it's ready to go! I've seen a few use the SR20 engine, but they end up very front heavy. From what I've heard there's a 1.6 engine from an almera/primera which is a better match and can be turboed...
  20. Sounds like too much effort to me. I'll leave it looking ratty.
  21. Heyup chaps! Thought this was a good place to ask. Just picked up a gem of a Micra for £300, it's mint underneath and has the mighty 1.4l engine, but it's really badly faded and the lacquer is chipping in places. Are there any quick and easy ways of sorting it? I've seen what T-Cut can do (even though detailers seem to hate it) but I believe it won't do much to this because it's lacquered?
