  1. ah nice. are you guys riding tommorro? was wondering if you wanted to farindon? cause i will be

  2. yeah cool, well we usually ride during the week after work or whatever. ermm most of us are a bit older like from 17 to 22 but i don't see age as a big issue personally!

  3. oh and how old are all of the guys you ride with? and you?

  4. hi mate, if you fancy trying to get a ride together that would be good, i live in faringdon and me and my mate would come over to wantage to ride, theres also another guy who rides with us on occasion :)

  5. I live in a similar area to you, in between Swindon & Wantage area. There are 5 or 6 of us that ride in Wantage quite regularly! Never ventured into Swindon as I have no idea where any spots are or even if there is any good ones! You would be more than welcome to come along with us to Wantage though, not sure what your level of riding is but there is a mixture of stuff for all levels really. Also we go to oxford every now and then which is the nearest place that is any good. Give me a message on here if you fancy coming out and I'll let you know when we're next out.
  6. www.selectbikes.com always used to be good, does anyone know if there still going? Tried ringing earlier but to no avail. The websites all up and running but don't fancy the risk of just ordering!
  7. I also had a pair of these, felt amazing, but bent after a month or so! I couldn’t get anything back on warranty or anything either because apparently I "must have been misusing them" But got trial techs now and they are spot on
  8. Hey, Well basically my brother bought a complete bike the other day, it came in the post unbuilt apart from the headset cups and bottom bracket in place. After building up the bike I noticed the cranks had a lot of play in them, so had a closer inspection and noticed it was in the BB. So we removed the cranks and went to remove the bottom bracket and it basically fell out!! Them noticed the problem straight away, there was a slight issue with lack of threads. The bloke who he bought it from is being helpful and offering solutions and is willing to give a refund, but at the end of the day the bike is what he wanted and has been saving up for so would rather find a solution to over come the problem and keep the frame. After a bit of research he has found these bottom brackets that do not use the threads in the frame, they screw onto the bb itself. so my questions to you is have you used these or known anyone who has or could give advice, are they good, do they work etc...? Please note he is only a beginner so this will not massively be put through its paces. An example of what I am talking about can be found on the following link: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=16505&src=froogle Thanks for any advice anyone can give. Jamie
  9. I live pretty close to swindon, didn't realise anyone else rode around here! I'm up for coming out for a little ride sometime. Never actually got round to riding swindon yet though so no idea what it's like or where the good places are.
  10. I'm like 10 minutes away from swindon, never been riding there though! I wouldn't mind seeing what it's like so if your ever out or whatever give us a shout.
  11. I live like 15 minutes away from Swindon, never ridden there though! not sure its all that great for riding? would be cool if someone who does know the area would be riding sometime, I would be up for that.
  12. I've used them for ages now and I will do for a lot longer! I weirdly like being able to feel the bar, makes it feel like I have more control over the bike. I think there a bargain personally
  13. You can do it without any programs at all, I done it a while ago and it worked fine but not sure of how much they have changed over the years but I'll try and explain. Firstly plug your iPod into computer and open iTunes, when it says do you want to sync iPod cancel it, then tick the enable disc use box. When you have done that open my computer and there should be a logo for your iPod and double click it. When it’s open it should have a few folders. ignore them and right click somewhere and go to properties and tick the box next to 'hidden'. Then a new folder should appear which contains all your music on the iPod. All the songs are renamed as just letters though which is a bit annoying and if you only want a few songs you will have to go through them all and listen until you find the ones you’re after. However if you copy all the songs then open them in iTunes it will recognise the letters and appear as the correct name in iTunes only. Its something along those lines anyway, give it a go!
  14. I had the same sort of problem with mine, I tried greasing/tightening things up as people have been advising but turned out it was cracked. So it might be worth having another good look to make sure, have a look around where the seat stays are welded to the top tube/seat tube rather than around the BB as that was where mine had seemed to have gone.
