  1. I'm living in Newton - le - Willows at the moment, and work just north of Wigan (Appley Bridge), I've not touched my trials bike for ~5 years but fancy digging it out if there is some riding to be done, albiet I'm not sure if anything above curb height may be optimistic after all this time Drop me a message if any rides happen!
  2. I'm looking for some camera advice. It's my girlfriends birthday soon and she has previously expressed interest in one of those cameras which has the body size of a compact camera but with a detachable lens (I feel my significant lack of camera knowledge is shining through here...) Just as very much a preliminary look into it... are they any good? would it be possible to buy a semi decent one for sub £300 (don't mind going secondhand)? ...Or am I wasting my time?
  3. Is there much market for agricultural machinery refurbishment? I've just started working for a company that primarily refurbs ag/construction equipment (albeit working on the CAD side of things) and we are pretty flat out with jobs coming in. We also do a fair amount of bespoke metal work for individuals and companies. I don't really know any exact figures, but it seems very lucrative for the numbers I've heard kicking around and you appear to have the full skill set to setup something similar!
  4. Due to a distinctly alarming overdraft figure I've just bought myself a Mundane-o estate for the princely sum of £550. Quite impressed for the spec/ price, but f*** me it's slow compared to the Saab. So, anyone want to buy a definitely-not-TF-trackday'd Saab 9-3?
  5. I finally got round to bleeding it tonight and is now fully working
  6. Thankyou very much for the offer! Il call round a few bike shops in the morning and see if I can buy one locally (on the presumption I'm going to need one in the future again anyway), if that fails I'll wing you a message
  7. Ideal, thanks! I didn't want to piss about trying to source a bleed kit and stuff tomorrow if it there was going to be an easier solution!
  8. My new (ish) bike came with a Reverb Dropper post, which was great when it worked, not so great when it doesn't. It has stopped coming up when I press the lever on the handlebar. It will pull up by hand, but sucks straight back down when let go, as if it has created a vacuum. I have checked the air pressure which is at the relevant 250psi. Will bleeding the system fix my issue? I know f**k all about them and hoping to head up to Scotland on Thursday so need to ideally get it sorted tomorrow!!
  9. Yeah I thinking/ hoping £400-500 would be the right kind of ball park! I think that would have been at the top of the big climb at Innerleithen!
  10. A bloke from work is interested in buying my old bike, being more than skint at the minute I don't want to get rid for peanuts but also don't want to rip him off. So how much would you expect to see this advertised for? - Titus Motolite 2 frame (Carbon fibre rear end), Chris King headset - Rp23 shock and Rock Shox Revelation forks (100-130mm, could do with a service) - Rear: Hope XC hub on a mavic (? I think) rim Front: Whatever comes with a 2006 Kona Kula. High roller super tacky/ minion tyres. - Truvativ Hussefelt cranks, EThirtheen bash, DMR V12 Mag pedals - 2 x 9 mostly SLX running gear - SLX brakes (180/160) - Bars/ seat/ stem all WTB stuff (Again, whatever it is that came on a Kona Kula) Think that's it. All used stuff, but not knackered!
  11. My clutch has started to slip when sticking my toe down how much longer (if I drive a little more sensibly) would I expect to it last for? Or is that a 'how long is a piece of string' kinda question?
  12. £30 for the tool, the robbing bastards! Thanks, can't say I'd have got any that fancy if I had bought them myself!
  13. Hmm I appear to have been a bit 'special' when googling earlier, found an instructional now: trip to a bike shop to find the tool tomorrow methinks.
  14. The driveside looks fairly 'normal' to me, and the crank extractor I have doesn't fit any of the threads there, thinking perhaps there is a specific tool for it..?
  15. I'm feeling pretty thick right now, and potentially even thicker once someone points how easy it is to do. I'm trying to take the cranks off my new bike to fit a new chain ring, I've only ever had square taper or ISIS cranks before which is nice and simple with a crank extractor tool. With these I have taken off the allen head and unscrewed a plastic retainer(?) but now I'm stumped. Should they slide off at this point and I just need to man up and hit them harder with a mallet or is there something im missing?
