  1. Cheers guys, I'm probably going to go with the Mono trial/trial zone if I can't sort a replacement as the 'originals seem to be as rare as rocking horse s**t,. Are there any great differences between the two, I just want the break to block really (the monty one seems to block, then creep forward/backwards on the edge of obstacles)
  2. Cheers guys, I could look at a substitute disc but I'm not sure what will work with regards to spacing/clearance etc..
  3. I've recently bought a used 221Ti with hope discs all around only to find that the rear disc rotor (160mm I believe) has sheared in 6 places...so I'm looking for a replacement. I've looked at Tartybikes & the 160mm Monty Kamel rotor is discontinued, does anyone know where I can find one as I'd prefer to substitute it with an original. Alternatively, can anyone suggest another rotor, no clearance issues etc? I've been looking at the Hope Trial Zone Rotor, has anyone experience of this rotor, clearances, reliability? Cheers, Dave
  4. Cheers guys, Sorry for me asking, so the sealed bearings are a like for like replacement (upgrade - as I imagine they're somewhat unlikely to collapse)? Cheers for the link too, 'tis a while since Ive ordered from Tartybikes.. Dave
  5. Ok guys n' gals, The time has come to service my Profile hub as it's skipping like mad. So I've striped it down (as advised on the profile website).. ..all was going swimmingly until I took the driver off. Inside the driver there are two or three ball bearing races with hemisphere ball bearings - one of which had popped out. I imagine it needs replacing as there were some small shards of metal floating around & it looks like it's been chewed by my rabbit, however I can't find any info whatsoever regarding these ball races online. The other problem is that I do not understand in what configuration the ball bearings go back in as they were all over the shop. I have attached a few images below to help identify the pieces/problem. Cheers in advance for any help. Grazie TF.

Just a couple of chilled out rides (hopefully the musi reflects this...lol) inc. clips/bails taken over the last year - riding 221ti & Czar. My riding is improving slowly considering I'm a 1 night a week rider...lol. Any constructive criticism welcome.
  7. Ok guys n' gals, my 221Ti frame looks as if it is about to bite the dust finally. It's had a crack in the chainstay since I bought it second hand in 2006, probably as it has a profile hub fitted, and now this crack runs virtually 360 degrees around. Anyway, I love the frame I don't really want to change all the components, I imagine that i will be able to use the headset forks etc with another frame? I was thinking of buting a 220 Kamel frame to replace it: any thoughts/feedbackl anyone (I don't really want anything too far away from the geometry of my Ti & i would love to have something nearly as light without going to the extreme of spending a fortune on the 221 Kamel)? Anyone know the weight of the 221Ti frame (2005) as a reference as I couldn't find it anywhere & don't want to go to the extreme of dismantling the bike just to find out.. Grazie a tutti............... Dave
  8. Don't get me wrong & I'm sure it's not the first comment you've had to this effect, but the video was great, but the music was..(I struggle for words). I listen to Cradle of Filth up to the Berzerker..but that was like listening to someone being sick for two minutes..on the plus side, the riding was great to watch (only after I'd scrabbled to find the mute button in the dark)
  9. I had to laugh the other day..trials does'nt get too much attention over here in Italy as there's only a handful of riders dotted about all over the country..so it made me laugh the other day when the talk at the coffee machine in work was everyone talking about trials. "Oh that bike you ride, there was a guy on the tv last night & he spun the bike around under him"...instantly, I said was it a internet video by any chance...that'll be Danny Macaskill, did he spin it around twice?.."Si, Si, Si" ...it seems that the Next Level vid made it onto national TV on 'striscia di notizia' & loads of people have been on about it..so get some more up so's I can drum up some more riding buddies over here after people take an interest!?!?

Loving the riding & the choice of music...
  11. I remember doing Physics at school, then at college at A-Level & then in part at Uni...& I bet it struggles to define/rationalise half of the moves in that - awe inspiring & smooth as silk.
  12. Hey...lol, my girlfriend'd kick my arse if she heard me say the first word.. Molvena's near Bassano Del Grappa, which is about 40-50 km north of Venice (give or take). Are these normal friends, or trials friends as I have a good friend who rides trials (Andrea Oddone) & he's from Liguria, but I think that's nowhere near..lol I had my Lip pierced years ago & that was no problem, so much so that I went back & asked him to take it out & do it again 20mins later as the ring was too big..I get the jitters sometimes & a bar of chocolate sorts me right out, but for the passing out, nothing really seemed to work..I'd go the doctor, but it'll become some over-eccentric parody of Fawlty Towers as I enter & start throwing my arms everywhere & trying to explain in broken Italian..so I think I'll add it to the list for my Doc the next time I come home.
  13. I did this in the past but I just jumped straight over (gave it too much beans) & landed just under the small of my back on the post, it hurt like crazy but I carried on riding (there was a crowd watching & I've also had my sight 'go' on me (similar effect to a migrane) after landing on my coccyx. I've knocked myself out momentarily by landing chin first on the top of a rock when I pinned my frontwheel on the hopup & kept hold of the bars as the bike rolled back & off the wall (in the early days before I learnt to let go) & I have the scar to prove it...lol This is what I mean, for me, I've had worse injurys & walked away/continued riding....but in this case my body seemed to disagree & switched the lights off.. I've just noticed that where the pedals hit my shinpad, I had a graze & now that's gone I have a 'hole/dent' in my shin..it's about round & about 3/4cm deep, anyone have any idea/had similar to that?
  14. To be honest, I'd usually of said the heat as it does get ridiculously hot here & I get the 'ald trembly legs now & again. But this, this was ridiculous...I'm assuming it was because I hit it so hard & unexpectedly & I feel it hit the bone...maybe I'm just wired up wrong....lol
