  1. Think you maybe 13 years too late probably long forgotten haha although there maybe that one guy...
  2. Fitted blade and lever last night and changed tensioner to a trialtech as the heatsink was being a pain.
  3. So i've now grown to dislike my current set up after several years of tinkering about to make it how I like so time to start of the new year with a bike build. It kinda went down hill 3 years ago butI seem to prefer starting from scratch and tend to enjoy my bikes more when doing so. So here we are back at this topic and it's finally up n running. Actually impressed with how it rides and have a week off next week to get some propped riding in!
  4. Ah right well I'm not much of a fan of the curve in the blade where my finger rests. I've just got the jitsie blade for my hope trialzone and feel more comfortable but then that's my opinion
  5. I have a lot of bad luck with maguras...
  6. I was looking at the trialtechs but having the lever blades on my zoo i didnt get on with them and kept getting finger strains for some reason. Played around with them for ages and still no good, i've ordered a jitsie one now so we'll see how that goes but it's a pain that the magura has already failed i just dont get how they get their disc brakes right but not their rim.
  7. I have a habit of building bikes from scratch so heres my collection. Titanium On One CX Boardman Pro FS Single Speed 26" which is now a 1x10 with Shimano Xt 780 and rides like a dream
  8. Well went to southampton yesterday and things were going so well until I noticed the pin holding my magura lever blade was coming out... I knew something was gonna happen as it always does with the new magura rim brakes as i snapped one attempting a side hop it went when i landed on the wall D: so already looking to get a new lever haha which i was looking at the Jitsie ones and then thought of getting the matching lever blade for my hope
  9. I could have gone over kill with a 150x30 but that wouldn't have been the point of going to a street bike :L have noticed to fronts feel nicer with this set up
  10. I don't think i'd get on with a shorter stem to be honest as even with this stem it still feels pretty short as i'm pretty tall but i'll see how it goes. I got a 90x10 hope stem if i ever think of trying shorter but this feels alright for the moment
  11. Refer to page 1 it's done!
  12. Well today's the day. Waiting on my rear wheel to arrive and I can finish the build so expect photos soon....
  13. Slowly getting there, fitted stem, bars, forks and pedals (Still need to cut steerer). Struggling to get the front tyre to sit properly in the inspired rim for some reason.... (Sorry about the potato photo lighting in the workshops crap)
  14. Yeah but i guess it'll have to do. That seems to be the think with hex's they always seem to be dangerously close with anything 22t but the truativ cranks they come with. I dont really want to be using any more spacers or as i've seen filing down the 4 bolt mounts for the chainring. I was going to use one of those washers but these have quite a wide surface area compared to those spacers and sit quite comfortably on the axle
  15. 2 BB spacers and then 3mm spacer on the axle. I tried 2mm but it just scraped so 3mm was pretty much spot on. Just gotta get a rear wheel now and then i can finish it all off!
  16. Cranks arrived and fits like a dream
  17. I was very tempted to be that guy and send the inspired wheel that I got built back and go for white rims but yeah with a pro 4 hub my rear wheels gonna be crazy heavy... Fortunately I'm not horrendously fussed about weight as I had a 12Kg Onza Limey 3 which I rode better than any of my 26" builds
  18. 29ers seem to be such a big thing now. I have an old school rigid mtb and a full sus 27.5 (Although not E bike) but although i'm a giant i've never been a fan or ever wanted to go 29er. Much more maneuverability on 27.5 and 26 is just still genuinely fun. Not tried a 29er ebike though which i'm sure would dominate on hill climbs but tried a few 27.5s and they're ridiculously fun just not quite been tempted to go down the e bike route myself.
  19. More bits arrived today. Tyres, Hope Headset, rear Magura and Hope Trialzone Front brake and then got another crankset arrived tomorrow so hopefully i'll have better luck with them. I tried the magura clamps in hope that they'd be offset enough for my rear wheel but my fears came true so new wheel so its all nice fresh n new
  20. I've reached a point where i'm not really sure what to do with my trials bike. 4 years ago I build up a Onza Limey 3 which was a pretty good TGS bike which i felt most comfortable with which then i started working and things went down hill from there. I could finally afford decent parts and started changing my bike quite drastically. I ended up getting an Echo frame and changing my whole stem geo and pretty much everything which it did work but I then lost confidence in power moves and became a little more technical. After a while I started building a Breath Yes 20" which actually was quite a fun bike to ride and found myself doing more and later neglecting my 26". I then sold my 20" like an idiot and kept my 26" because Thats the bike I put the most time and money into. Time went on again and i got a ZOO! to try and recreate the Limey and again then messed up my geometry thinking I had it all sussed out and then the crewkerz stem and clean carbon bars came about and thought i'd get on that hype and that has now really thrown me off thinking if its good enough from top riders maybe i'll get use to it. Basically what i'm saying is I'm thinking of selling my trials bike and starting fresh which i'm not sure it's a good idea or not and didn't know whether to look at a 26" street trials for maybe slight more variety in riding. Last time i rode street was back when i started trials which i had a Onza Zoot which didn't go too well but was a first introduction to trials. Video to show riding on 26 and 20
  21. Idiot award goes to me. 30mm axle on the raceface of course i'd order the wrong bb also having doubts about spacing so i'm unfortunately gonna send the cranks back and get some Raceface Chesters and they look like they'll space out a bit more from the bb and it comes with a bottom bracket
  22. Hmm i could be that guy and deny you of that rim... haha I have a echo tr front wheel on my Zoo so depending on whether it sells complete or if it gets split then i may take it off that but thanks anyways :L Sad day putting that up for sale started off as an Ashton Diamond back and became an endless money pit so it'll be good to start fresh when i get this built
  23. I'll give it a miss then haha. I've just checked my order status for the rest of my parts which the order was pushed back to the 22nd due to the bottom bracket not being in stock which i was going to get a raceface but then found out a shimano one will work so i'll be ordering a shimano bb and then the rest of the parts should be here next week. I received my forks, stem, chainring and bashguard today and i think i'll your advice on the DeeVee rim. Think i may need to slow down on what i'm spending at the moment D: but its pretty much too late now as it's only the rear wheel i need to sort now... i'll have to wait n see if i can sell my Zoo! quick but from past experiences with selling a trials bike it never goes too quick
