Naa thats a 2007 model and mine is a 06, they are correctly positioned. 07 is renowned for that thats why I got the 06.

Well it was advertised at 800 but ended u paying 780 cuz needed new front pads. Iv had a few rides now as trials steed is broken (rear axle), and its good to own a different style of bike as well as a trials bike, can feel myself getting fitter carting around 25kg with only a 44th front chainring.. its very plush but a bit hard fir me, im going to leave it though because it gives me room for droping into relativley big things. Pedaling around is hard work but going down is very comfortable and confidence inspiring. Over all I'm very happy with it and it hasnt needed much doing to it except brake setup, new fork oil and a good clean/lube. Post some pics shortly. Cheers and keep a lookout on pinkbike for a bargain.
  4. Got a stab deluxe instead lol its medium and fits me well.
  5. Few quick pad reviews for disks here. Brake 1: Hope TZ (F 160) Pad 1: Echo (red) Not bad. But not great. Seems to slide through a lot for me. Better when cleaned and watered. Pad 2: Hope pro Much better than the above in all areas. Good bite and hold and good in wet (makes a bit of noise when wet) Cost more and are softer so wear quicker (not a problem in trials really) Brake 2: Hope MonoT (R 180) Pad 1: Hope standard Average bite decent hold and good in wet too. Not bad wear and not much noise Pad 2: hope pro Improvment in bite to standard. Simlar in other respects. Brake 3 (not trials) : Hayes 9 (F & R 203mm) Pad 1: clarkes Cheap pad and fairly good bite/hold, slightly noisy and not as good in the wet as id like. Pad 2: EBC red Expensive much softer, very good bite and hold in wet and dry. These are my opinions on performance, based on my setup and experience. Yours may differ so dont take them as a benchmark or anything.
  6. I think we dont understand from there eyes what it looks like. The other day before I snaped my rear axle (hence not being on here much; hi all!) I was out riding a bench iv rode since beig probably 16 in a town iv lived in my entire life, when an old "unfortunate" slightly drunken man iv never seen before ever, came over and exclaimed "Ill have your f**king guts"...whilst doing a stabbing motion with a gun shape he made with his hand and fingers, and makin "pshh..rrr." noises... despite the hilarity I refrained, and he continued with... (I have a beard).. "Foreign bastards.. *grumble baaa*.. something..."... @ this point I just couldnt hold the LOL anymore and went somthing like "PAHH! HAHA.. I was born 5 minuets walk, even for a person in your condition and state, away from here. Stop wasting what little time you have left moaning about things you dont understand and go back to the pub you just came out of"... whilst hopping around on the back wheel casualy as you do.. wih him making "im going to hit you wih my walking stick" gestures... All in all, super-fun times! Just rode off. Although most of the public enjoy seeing it I have found, I do get odd comments but that was by far the most fun.
  7. Me and a friend thought about this too but not enough people to come as Joseph says. If it was a skate park /dirt jumps with a trials bit on the back/side.. maybe enough riders then. My friend recently opened his indoor skate park. Its not as busy as he would like I dont think and he allows scooter bmx and skateboards etc.. Its clear that a trials only park would not be profitable or even affordable unless you have a lot of cash to just throw into it regardless of what you get back. Saying that though, I would like too see it happen. Cheers

Picked this up few days ago. It chucked me down some trails today pretty well but its so heavy on the hilly bits.
  9. Iv had a lot of these problems and have solved most of them. The leaking from the top cap is normal after a re-bleed to a certain extent as long as the diaphragm (rubber seal) is seated correctly and is of good condition (not warped, curved bent stretched or gone hard) and you dont overtighten the bolts then after a day or so of an little oil coming out and a "air sound"... it should stop leaking.. this is just because as you fill the reservoir up and "roll on ( very important)" the diaphragm, you allways end up with a little fluid around the diaphragm and reservoir rim and sometimes a few drops in top of diaphragm from spillage etc. Then when the top cap is secured, pulling the lever and pressuring the system causes tyat excess fluid to be ejected through the waste hole. I wouldn reccomend using brakes in the reservoir upside down position as this will allow air to enter into the system again if there is any trapped under the diaphragm as u rollit in. So. After you do this.... next bit... do a rebleed again and then wait a few days before inverting the bike. (So the excess flud can dissipate) Ok so the slaves are self adjusting so the wont fully return to he position you push them back to.. A solution is; Remove calliper. Install old pads or somthing to hold the piston like a pad would. I use a metal stick thats thin and fits in there. Push/pull the pistons back as much as you can and then pump the lever as you watch the calliper. Stop pumping before the pads touch so you can prise it open again..(and dont pop the piston out lol) Repeat this many many times and put some lube (I use gt85) around the rim of the pistons before you press them back in again.. repeat wih bith pistons many many times. oYou may notice one moves faster than the other and returns better etc. To fix. Install a pad on the working / non lazy side and then a small allen key through the slot that the disk travels through as to stop the good piston moving (try to center everything nicley so that the piston dosent just get restricted fro the front and the back starts to raise...) Now exercise and lube the lazy piston a few more times and push it back. Remove the jigg you made and push back both pistons as.much as possible (with old pads on). Test it again. It should be better but maybe not solved. If not then it needs rebuilding and a proper seeing too. However it should be better and should work even if one is moving more freely u just have to set the lazy pads distance to the disk first while you restrics the movment of the free moving pad. So you try to manually get them as close as you can. Then gently work the lever and watch the pads and tweak untill both are touching and releasing properly. Sorry for bad writing im on the phone. Hope it helps.
