Anyone tried the new veetire synthesis?  I'm too puncture prone for the other veetire's, but this one seems to have a sidewall insert?

if that the same as the kevlar sidewall one thats been around for a while (but i dont think you could purchase from a shop), its alright, i still got punctures, but a lot less than without the sidewall.

I like the Monty Race on my 26”.

No punctures (yet), super grippy, springy but surprisingly stable on off camber/rough stuff.

Mr.Lazenby had good things to say about that tyre too

Cheers Herbert lemon what are they like on off camber do they fold much?

They feel alright to me, but I mainly ride street- so I can’t give you too much of an in depth report on that. I’ve not personally had mine fold dangerously, If that helps.

  4. For me, the jitsie. I always thought it was a weight weenie/punctures every 5 mins sort of tyre, like the non-Kevlar Veeco tyre. Canadian Kevin was telling me how he’s had them since they were released with zero punctures, so I thought I’d give them a go- been super impressed. Super light, super grippy,  and if you’ve seen the amount of dents in my rear wheel- not a single puncture, which is impressive. I had a slow punny in hull but I’m pretty sure I must’ve run over something unsavoury...

plus, they’re not even pricey! Will be using them as standard from now on.You could be talking about street bikes, in which case, ignore all of that :P

What did Alex and Josh do to the respective hubs?

A lot. Axle machining, hubshell, driveshell, bearing relocation, end caps, machining a new thread into the driveshell for a new external lockring (Alex) and probably more that I don’t know about. Josh’s doesn’t have a lockring, it has a C-Clip. The ones alex did have no dish, they’re equal on both sides and the disc mounts are usable- the one alex did for me was unique in that the disc tabs could be used on a 110mm frame, it was really impressive to get that to work.

Josh’s I believe also had no dish from when I’ve seen Flipp’s bike, and disc tabs were most certainly usable.

  6. alex dark did mine and @isitafox, was an amazing piece of work and properly done, both are still going (i had both at one point) with their new owners. im not sure if he can still make them but hes worth asking.

josh leech did @aener's, completely different style of doing it, was mechanically simpler but just as effective, its definitely worth asking. again, not sure if he can still do them but there you are-

i asked euan beaden originally and he said he couldnt do 110, but then alex did it anyway. i think thats because euan just machined down the driveside so you have a seriously dished wheel, which wouldnt leave enough space for 110mm. but he is another option.

    hope any of that helps.

Heat the stickers up with heat gun/hair dryer, should help the stickers peel off in one piece as the glue gets warm. Then Acetone or something similar to remove the glue and original decals.

The hairdryer trick worked super well, all of them came off in one piece- cheers (Y)

    Sweet, nice one

You could do that, but as far as I know there's no bike aesthetics related problem that a can of satin or matte black spray paint hasn't been able to solve.

The logos are 3D, you’ll still be able to see them... and from past frame spraying experience it’ll scratch off pretty easy on aluminium ... I don’t mind a bit of extra work to get that nice anodising showing through :P

  9. Just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to removing decals. They’re just stuck on, but are too tough to remove by hand, it would take yonks.

On the flip side, I know that people quite like these decals, so if anyone has a jealousy frame and fork in very good condition, I’ll happily swap it- because after I’ve taken the hope logos off, I’ll then have to use paint thinner on the crewkerz ones underneath. Extra effort.

I just really like simple colour schemes when bikes are involved. I want this all black with the purple accents. I also have a blacked out cleep2 frameset for sale, seeing as I’m going on an advertising venture already. Just message me.

I thought it looked like an arcade.

How does the 20” wheel compare to the 19” do you think?

from experience, the main thing you notice is the rolling resistance. it carries speed into things a lot better.

Oh, and this was the first time I actually spotted your location, Jamie - where I had it on my screen made it extra creepy until I moved it up and saw the Clean 3 reference, at which point it made more sense.

    took you long enough :(

rear wheel is premium french cheese. or maybe im just a rough git. i dont weigh anything though..... :P

    stunts.

  12. little update, it hasn't done it these past couple days, so i'm not sure what to take away from that. that it was coincidence it did it for weeks on end and then stopped when i made it a thing? not sure whats changed except its sunnier.

disclaimer: fully believe its something silly like a dodgy floor that shrinks at night in the cold,
