  1. I’m checking YouTube on the daily for this
  2. I would perceive with it.trials is hard and the skills won’t come overnight
  3. Blacked out the zoot. Fitted a new bb, the unidentifed forks and a black headset. I’m really enjoying learning stuff on it, as it it’s like a bmx and I’ve been pushing the bars out front to learn trails moves
  4. Looks like a great deal for £100 and it will be a fun bike. Have fun hopping about
  5. I had a Vitus Sommet and it was a really fun bike and the secondhand prices are really good
  6. Could any of you fine people help me. I’m learning the trials basics. But the thing I’m struggling with what I thought would be a fairly simple maneuver. i can pedal hop forwards on to a ledge and land on my rear wheel but it then drops. It it a case of needed to commitment and sitting back in to it more? Also should I be doing the pedal hop with my wrong foot forward? thanks in advance
  7. Anyone used the halo/viz/RockMan and have an opinion on them? Currently have a onza 30 click and I would like something a bit faster to engage. i do have a token freewheel on a town bike I could use if anyone knows anything about them. I’m not sure it will be up to trials abuse
  8. Ha, they sound like a real quality piece of kit i think there are a few pairs of fatty forks at work so I’ll pinch a set of them if I decide to change
  9. They are near identical to a Cannondale fatty fork with the exception of Magura mounts. They even have have mudguard eyelets so it looks like a mass produced, multi use thing
  10. No, a used one so it could of been anything
  11. Are they not? I assumed they were as they came on a hex
  12. I put some higher bars on I found at work, they look a bit odd but they make is so much easier to hop and manual. I also found some ghetto inspired alloy forks that have had the Magura mounts hacked off. I’m gonna see if I can tidy them up as they are loads lighter than the zoot steels.
  13. I went out for a bit of a session today and I thought it rode pretty well but I suck. Had a back wheel hop comp against my son on his pogo stick and he won looking forward to learning some skills. If I get really in to it I’ll probably upgrade but for now it’s good enough
  14. So higher is better? It feels pretty short to me but I’m used to road and enduro bikes
  15. Treated the zoot to a strip and rebuilt and Had a quick play. It doesn’t feel to natural to bunnyhop when moving. Is higher bar the answer?
  16. Just arrived in the post. My new toy an onza zoot DD I know they have a reputation of snapping but I doubt I’ll be getting to extreme on it. ihad a rummage though some of old bike stock (I used to buy the slick from closed down bike shops) and found a bunch of trials parts but I’m gonna resist pimping it up until I’m sure I like it this said the cable disc brakes need to go so should I use the Magura hs33 or the formula disc brakes? If anyone wants any of the other bits you’re welcome e to make me an offer, apart from the guide brakes it’s all new
  17. Don’t get to hung up on the gearing but I think it was 22/18 had it set up like this, maybe I just needed to stick with it a bit longer
  18. Quite a few wrong statements in your reply as I was talking about my personal experience not saying it was a bad bike, but... It was very light geared great for learning pedal hops and the like but bit slow getting places, in fact the gear was recommended to me by people on this forum. Obviously the bunnyhop ability has nothing to do with gearing. yes Ali c can tear it up at the pump track but I am not him. im used to a 650b enduro bike so am pretty used to the way that hops, I also used to ride bmx and could hop them pretty high but the trials bike just felt like all my weight is to far forward, again, good for trials My question about the pashley was if it would ride somewhere in between a trials bike and a mtb?
  19. I need some advice. i want a bike I can practice trials on but still be able to get to the spots as the ones near me are all a bit spread out. I had an inspired hex which was great for the trials part but the gearing meant I was walking it places and I found it really awkward to bunnyhop while rolling and rubbish at the pump track. Tried a friend jump bike but that wasnt good at the trials part. i was think about an old school trials rig like a pashley might be better but I haven’t ridden one so really don’t know. Any ideas?
