  1. take a mop disk to your front rim and polish it so all the grind is gone and the surface is smooth , then clean the rim with brake cleaner or solvent degreaser then buy some very soft pads and use a tiny bit of tar if its not good enough , a grind on the front is just asking for trouble there's very little modulation and the pads seem to wear very quickly and the grind needs re-doing often . good luck
  2. couldn't you try running the pads without the pivoting spacers between the arms and pad base ?
  3. i dont think some people are being reasonable about this topic , some of the components you listed were not very good when they were first realised so its understandable that when sales fall they discontinue them . as for the comments about zoo bars and 36 hole rims they are completely right , i cant believe they axed zoo bars as they were the best riding bars ever used from way back in 2005 and im still using them know and although some nice feeling bars have been brought out there really is nothing that rivals it . 36 hole rims are a bigger problem than most people think because if you run a profile you have a few options you can either use a reinforced wheel or alex rim or you can build it with spoke holes missing which is not the best option , so the comment "go and buy a different 32 hole rim" isn't really helpful is it because some people don't particularly want to run a ffw and most people cant afford £300 for a ck bmx . i think at the end of the day everyone rides with the components they like and feel comfotable with and there are some of us that cant get the components we like anymore and were just having to make sacrifices , maybe you should just look for some different parts or maybe try a different online shop if there are any left . rant over and good luck
  4. i only posted up because u didn't specifically say what pads he was using just that there not available anymore but they were very good pads back in the day .
  5. probably original coust pads or red coust pads but i know he did use to use plaz pads back in 2005 .
  6. i know someone will probably tell me im wrong but , im using tnn lgm on the back of my monty and to be completely honest there awful . they just dont seem to bite the grind very well at all so im going to give it one more grind and if it doesn't work then im going to look for something else , alot of people swear buy these pads but im not impressed so far . good luck with finding the problem
  7. absolutely monster riding man , your super smooth but still ride hard and big . i look forward to seeing the full video
  8. matt i completely agree with you , recently there has been a trend that nearly all parts have been made to save weight but sacrifice there overall strength . not to long ago most mod riders would proofer to use a profile or king rear hub for strength and reliability but now days people favour the freewheel for weight saving , im not saying that freewheels are weak or inadequate but some riders are struggling to get the parts they would like . it still puzzles me why zoo stopped making the 2005 shape zoo bars as they were really nice and now other companies have capitalised on the market and built replica bars . at the end of the day ride what is right for you , if your a heavy sketchy guy then don't buy tiny weight frames and parts .
  9. hi , i have a 221 ti with a profile and all you have to do is run the cams on the outside , if your realy conserned about cracking your frame all you need to do it either file , grind or machine the profile end caps for a better fit.
  10. unless your riding the long frame the zoos are not very good but id definitely go with the 06 in long they ride so nice.
  11. maybe i am living in the past but i always thought a bashguard was there to land on and shouldn't cause the frame to fail like that , just looks like a failure of the material but as mark said know one can tell from here. im not to sure about this but i think the frame might be too stiff around that area which would stop it from flexing and possibly cause a crack to fracture like that , its just unlucky really good luck i hope you get a new one .
  12. hi everyone , just recently my magura hs33 04 has become quite slow so i decided to remove the piston and oil bleed but on inspection of my piston it has two wear lines that are parallel to each other , now ive seen this before on some old hs33 05 brakes that ive taken to bits and repaired but is this the cause of a slow piston ? I have been looking on tartybikes and the pistons are available for £8 which might solve the problem or is it to do with the way the piston has been machined and polished ? can anybody shed some light before i spend some money . any help appreciated
  13. i dont quite agree with the comments regarding profile hubs , ive only ever trusted profile hubs and ive tried everything else going . i think the only thing that is making profiles less appealing is that rim manufactures are choosing to use a 32 hole drilling rather than a traditional 36 of the profile , im going to continue using profile until the day comes were i cant find a rim for it and then im gonna buy a king hub . the gsport hub looks very pritty but the internals let it down .
  14. hi guys , ive recently bougth a 2009 magura louise which has a hinged lever but when you tighten the lever it still moves too much , should there be a shim between the handle bar and the clamp or is it generaly a bad design and has anyone else notcied this ?
