Brakeless And Fear?

I went brakeless 2 weeks ago. And there is a problem - i can't do pedal-up. With brakes I can stable pedal-up to 28inch(yep, I'm newbie), but without brakes there are something that stops me. I can't even pedal-up to 10inch. And this is really frustrating.
When I trying to do pedal-up it feels like oh my god DONT KNOW HOW TO MOVE STOPSTOPSTOP.
Just need more practice? Maybe on flat?

Does This Bashring Look Street?

Yeah proably one of the most stupid question's and the only other bash rings that look street are the Inspired, hook designs and the trial tech. And i think my riding is still way to rough to get away with a half ring or something and the inspired looking as good as it does would look wrong on a mod plus wouldn't even fit!!

But this one is a ZOO!! bash turned round it work's just the same but is dead plain.. I'm thinking it look's ok on those cranks, do you agree??

Putting The Feelers Out - Trials Festival Near Preston, End Of August?

Hello all,

I've been asked by Joe at Cuerden Valley Park to put the feelers out regarding a possible trials weekend at the park.

They have run trials events as part of their yearly festival for the past 2 years, but this year it has been called off due to waterlogged fields.

So, instead, he wants to run a weekend event, probably 25/26th August.

Cuerden Valley Park is just near J29 of the M6, postcode PR5 6BY.

The green area is where the event would be, orange is Sainsbury's, red are the train stations. Everything is within a mile of each other which is handy! We are also very close by so would be on hand to help Joe during setup and may be able to nip to the shop up for half an hour or so for any replacement parts needed over the weekend.

Initial thoughts are:

- 2-day event (possibility of camping over Friday night too if anyone would prefer), with full itinerary made before the weekend so you know what's going on and when.
- Camping on site, with showers and toilets.
- DJ on the Saturday night, possibly with beer tent.
- Fish & Chip van or Hog Roast or Burger van Saturday night (Fish & Chips favourite idea at the moment).

- Bigger and better riding than previously, split into distinct areas; beginner (flat/square obstacles on a firm car parking area), advanced (more angled and tricky stuff on a slightly less flat bit of land) and 'streety' (kickers, flat banks, etc on tarmac), but all 3 areas right next to each other. Joe has contacts for cars, skips, cable spools, scaffolding, flatbed trailer, etc so with enough notice he can get plenty of stuff!
- Hoping to get 1-hour coaching slots available on each of the days (just need to bribe Stan, Cap, etc with some cake/biscuits).
- If people want to do it, we could have a mini speed trial on the Saturday night after the beers have been flowing, with prizes.

- And the best bit, the event would be completely FREE for everyone (although cars may need to pay ~£4 parking for the weekend which would go directly to the park, I need to chat to Joe about that. And you'll need to buy your own food of course!).

Anyone up for that? Realistic ideas/suggestions also welcome

Cheers,

Useful Barb Fitting Tip

Saw this on a website.

Get a spoke, and cut the bent end off.
Fit the spoke nipple backwards.
Then slide the barbed fitting on the spoke, and slide the spoke in magura hose.

That way when you clamp your hose and tap the end of the spoke, it holds the barb straight.

Im unsure on the size, M6, 7, 8 or 10. Or is it a special one for the avid?

I know you can buy the genuine spare from select places online, but it comes as part of a kit called, Ultimate Lever Hardware kit or something and it's £35....

Thanks in advance!
