Loks like he's cut out every third 'arm' on the disc.

That rim is funny, had he squared the holes?

I wana see footage of that vincent super sideways tuck, pic 20 down from the top. Surley that wasn't from static??

and joe on an MBK mod? New deal or too much money to spend?

Exellent pics joe (Y)

Can't wait to see footage, is that ceasar on the monty?

Yeah, there was a lot of riders that had done that to save weight.

New sponsor - TMS. And, also, Trialtech (Y) ...

It's not Cesar. It's Juan Daniel De La Pena; another very talented Spanish rider.

Awesome pictures, Joe. Proper, proper want to be back there now!

Cheers,

Joe.

Quality pics (Y) . at giacomo's folded wheel (what do expect from rims with square punched holes, onza should be worried with their 08 rims). nice gap launch and sidehop from Danny Bulter. nice tuck from Vincent Hermance. cant wait for the video footage.

Giacomo's rim is probs more to do with the fact that it was magnesium! Gilles had single wall try-all rims with huge squares filed out but his were fine. Maybe it's the magnesium + Giacomo's huge amount of power + big drop = busted rim

Well if they are made of magnesium they are not DOB rims (Dob rims are not availiable with square holes at the mo). plus square punched holes are still more prone to riding stress than round punched/drilled holes. look close at where the rim has folded in relation to where the spokes have de-stressed/folded. you dont have to be a rocket scientist to know that square hole rims are weaker than round hole rims. and with a powerhouse like giacomo sessioning those rims day in day out, the results are pretty obvious.

The rim's may not be manufactured like that but as with nearly all the koxx riders the rims are filed out from round holes to square so i'm thinking giacomo has done the same with the dob rims. -hugh
