AdamR28 Posted July 28, 2016 Report Share Posted July 28, 2016 Meaning... the weld (stress concentration) is now down the 'inside' of the legs, rather than on the back, which is a much less highly stressed area. These are ridiculously stiff (for those who've tried them, they're up there with Spank rims), and laced up super nicely. From giving them a grind they're a pretty hard alloy so should work well in terms of brake performance, especially with the extra boost from that inner wall too. Felix_HBtrials Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 My friend got the crazy idea to run a carbon 26'' front rim. The profile is similar to this one and to MTB rims. We then both swapped our front single wall rims to those carbon rims on our 26'' front disc bikes. So light and incredibly stronger. Well, this is not carbon for sure, but I am convinced it can give super good results. Jack will put this under good testings I am sure, can't wait to see the result! Rusevelt Posted November 7, 2016 Report Share Posted November 7, 2016 Well if they are anything like the Undrilled rims seen here on Damon's bike at 01:20-01:23, and managed to shave some weight of them, then yeah they will be good. Only annoying thing with the old undrilled rims was the slightly tapered sidewalls which made brake pad set-up a pain. So if these new rims have parallel sidewalls then it ticks all the boxes..
