So when I bought my stock, the guy threw in a middleburn super pro bash ring for free, but it's 16t, i was just wondering if i were to start using it what would be an apropriate sprocket size for the rear.. i've never run 16t on the front but it should shed a bit of weight and i might even be able to run my tensioner closer to the chainstay (it's bugging me) Ta very muchly.

16:14 is a relatively normal 26" ratio, so would be your best bet as a start point - if that's too easy run a 13.

i'd vote 16-12 or possibly 16-13, you may also want to take into account the length of your cranks aswell,
if your running 175mm middleburns then i'd opt for 16-12, anything above 12 on the rear using this setup would be way too low of a ratio imo.
however if your running 160's then 16-13 might be a better ratio,

18:15 is the standard gear ratio.
15 / 18 = 0.833
0.833 * 16 = 13.333
So yeah, ideally 16:14 or 16:13. Generally speaking 16:14 is the 'normal' gear ratio to run. 16:12 would be a bit mental...
