Air-con has decided not to to play anymore. Please just be a regas fix. f**king worst time of year too.

I took mine to ats for a regas last May, all they managed to do is empty it completely and then tell me that it was broken.

A bloke in a van from Rugeley came out, vacuum checked the system, inspected and refilled it; absolutely nothing wrong with it and working just fine ever since. OK it cost more (about 60 quid I think) but much better to have someone actually know what they're doing.

Would thoroughly recommend him, all manual equipment, no automatic machines, an old school refrigeration engineer who will talk you through exactly what he's doing :)

Nope :(

Useless f**kwits, I'm not sure why I went there, they had previously refused to quote to change the snapped aux belt on the car because it was too technical for them....

Fortunately the 60 quid the guy charged included a full fill and pressurise :)

I can't find him now, which is a shame because I was going to link @TROYston up as he's local to me.

edit: f**k me sidways with a pineapple, I've just looked up how much it is, 416 quid for a 12kg bottle, that's almost 35 grand a tonne :o

Cleannnnnn CRX VT in for some serious drive line problems sorting.

First “big” Honda job since I’ve set up my own side line solely for them. Keen to make this car the drive it should be as against how it is now.. awful.

I'll do a proper update tomorrow, but I have a question / require some opinions.

I took my windscreen out today and I saw along the bottom of it, this:

https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/windscreen-weatherstrip-mk1-25-p-2203.html

That link implies that it goes all the way around, but mine doesn't. Also, how important is this strip?

Would a decent bead of adhesive windscreen bond not make this strip redundant?

f**k me, full steam ahead dude.

ME221 - assume you're boosting it?

Looking good man, would love to have the time and facilities to do the same to my car.

Thanks man it’s coming along slowly ; boost is on the cards once it’s taken off the road again ( assuming it makes it onto the road this year ha )

I tried googling for local mobile aircon regases, to no avail to match your description of a old dude who does it manually. So went onto Groupon and get a regas+clean for £40 at ats

PLEASE DONT BE LEAKING :S, just hope its been neglected like the rest of the car apparently.

 I love RockAuto, order 300 quid worth of stuff, over 20 components and they ship them all individually. Even single gaskets...

To follow on from this I've just had a water pump, and gaskets turn up in a box, upper and lower dad hoses in separate boxes and all the clamps I need in 2 boxes...

Selling a Pure Highway 400, basically new for £75 posted if anyone be interested.
From facebook marketplace:
Pure highway 400 in-car digital radio adapter with Bluetooth music Bought from halfords for about £120 a couple of months ago.

Works perfectly, aerial wasn't stuck on so still is new and ready to be stuck wherever. Works in any car so long as it has a USB or 12v socket.

Stream music from your phone to any fm station, or dab through the unit itself. It also includes a aux connector if you care to use that.

I've got it set to 93.30fm to avoid other fm transmitter users and local stations.

blaah blah, in no hurry to sell it, but open to offers.

Other news, cold aircon is cold. 3.2 degrees.

Cheers Mark, I’d not made a huge deal of it as I wanted to see how I got on.

The CRX is about done. Just needs aligning. Customer had a quick test drive earlier and is over the moon. FA63F0DA-2984-422D-99CB-B32D3152A52E.thumb.jpeg.86be2d7d9d118ad9525ccfbd49ea7df2.jpeg

I've won mk1 MX-5 lottery jackpot. A guy bought a super clean, freshly resprayed SU red mk1 to a club night a few months back and I expressed interest in his bonnet, which he was getting rid of due to a tiny dent.

He called me yesterday, to tell me that the car was a massive bodge job underneath and must be scrapped - it's 90% filler and has been in a big crash, but all panels are fine.

I've been given free reign to swap over any panels I need, so I'm basically gonna swap the whole lot, making my car look a million times better! :D:D:D
