The whole point is that air is lighter than water, so it travels up your brake system into your lever. So you don't need to use syringes to get air out of your brake. It's ideal if you're mid ride. Thought the other videos that were on there good though Yeah that's a good way of doing it, there's tonnes of variations and different ways of bleeding/topping up a Magura. I thought it was typical DOT fluid thats used in Car/Motorbike brakes! But great tutorial.. Thanks alot.. isitafox Posted October 23, 2014 Report Share Posted October 23, 2014 Magura's are supposed to be run with mineral oil, DOT fluid will destroy the brake but water is a suitable (and free) substitute. bing Posted November 8, 2014 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 Easiest way to do this with a water bled brake is to take the plug out, wind the tpa off, and put the entire bar end, lever as well in a bucket of water, and gently pump the lever until air stops coming out.
