Onza Ice. R.I.P :(

I've been bikeless for quite a bit and the dual disc rockman manus really made me hate trials :( Sorry to you DD lovers but the squidgy feel at the lever just didn't tickle my fanceh!

I picked this up, and even though I can't even ride it yet it made me smile all the way home due to the fact it's dual maggy. Something about dual maggy that makes me want to go ride leeds street all week haha.

Going to be spicing it up, in true dan james cox style? haha. Needs a few things sorting, better freewheel as this one is falling apart. A few things need rawing (bashring and got some red cnc washerless echo clamps to go on)

Frame is going to be polished too, wheels going silver. The bar and stem combo feels amazing too.

New project, bring on summaaaaaahh!

Need to shorten the front maggy, anyone know how to do it please?

You should be able to shorten the hose without having to rebleed the brake, did mine on my Bionic a while back and it was pretty easy as long as you're careful and don't knck the brake.

Glad you've got a bike again boy, be looking forward to some comical vids of you and Neil on facebook again?!

Had a bit of a maintenance day!

Ended up finding two cracks in the frame :( One on the dropouts and one at the bottom of the bashplate mount. Such a stupid stress riser, bash plates are bad!

I'm just going to ride it still it snaps. It might not even with me being about 6.5 stone? haha.

Took the bike to pieces first. I'm wanting to re-fit everything with good qual grease.

The freewheel lockring had come undone on the last owner and totally jammed up so after a little inspection it just needed properly refitting but thought i'd remove it all and clean it all out, degrease everything! It's a tensile 96 click.

And decided to get rid of the battered white paint...

Turned out pretty nice all shiny :) It sounds SO much nicer now too, the pawls did look a tad worn but that can wait for another day.

Then got round to removing the anodizing from the loud red clamps!

This is the crack on the dropout!

And on bash

This motherfungler was in the rear wheel! Weighs about 900kgs haha

What was left of the day! All new and shiny bits

Dads currently got the frame and wheels in the back of his car to take to a sandblasters tomorrow. Woooo. I'm not spending years trying to remove the paint from wheels, its stupidly thick!

This is going to turn out really sweet! Hope you polish it up so it looks like your onza comp frame did :)

I don't think that you will snap the frame quick but I wouldn't be confident riding that either. I would just get a carbon wrap or someone to just put a quick weld over those cracks.

Just bought several grades of wirewool, wet and dry paper and some metal polish for just that today :P Can't wait!

Hopefully this build will look better, not sure about running 170mm cranks though.

That's what i'm thinking about the frame, will see! haha

I'm sending it off to be Jaffed tomorrow mate.

Today I did a few more things. Gave each individual part a thorough wash with all purpose cleaner as the bike proper smells like smoke :(. And regreased every thread I have available.

I wanted to raw the bashring as green isn't going to fit in with the rest of the colour scheme but ended up doing the cranks too, as silver is much better for hiding the inevitable scratches i'm going to give it haha.

I removed the absolutely gash looking logos from the rockbars, they just don't fit in anywhere so they went too!

I've removed every other nobble off of the front and rear creeper crawlers, save a bit of weight and increase grip :) Cut myself in the process haha

After the wash they're all shiny ready to go on when the frame is back!

Didn't have much luck having the paint removed today so I tackled it myself with some B&Q paint stripper, it's completely average as expected but better than the new style Nitromorse. This is the progress so far, the paint is much softer and it's giving way in places but if it takes many attempts i'll just despoke the wheel and de-paint it with an angle grinder.

Been at Newcastle for a week for my gf's birthday so haven't had chance to do anything yet! Frame should be all welded and returned when I'm back tomorrow.

I've shortened the hosing on the maggy and rebled it all so it's gonna look much neater! Can't wait to build it all back together
