Riding Shoes

Hi guys,

I'm sick and tired of riding in trainers which end up getting wrecked after a few months use on the bike. What shoes would you recommend that are good for use? Can be trials specific or just well made and durable trainers, preferably under £50 but may consider spending more :)

Thanks Guys

how wide are they? I've got quite wide feet and quite often have trouble getting shoes that fit so do these have much room width wise?

I have wide feet too. I tired Jakes on last weekend and had a little ride in them. He is size 9 in them but I find I am a 10/11 in most other shoes and these fitted perfectly.

Tight hold around the feet

Molded soul as well, supports the arch and all that jazz.

Makes riding Vans feel like you have a small book tied to your feet

Beautiful grip, not that you need it with those pedals you have.

Pretty much a rubber extension for

Need to find some in uk 9/10 and I'm insta buy that straight up

I personally don't ride with any support but It was noticeably more supportive than my excuse for riding shoes.

Jake uses supports and still loves them, cant say whats its like comfort wise but it works. pretty sure he will see this thread soon

my dad calls them shovel feet :P

those look ideal, got them in my size as well :) any other shoes guys? if not these will probably be what I go for

Ridden mine since this time last year, they are still solid. Only a bit of crank wear.

I also had an embarrassing accident on a few occasions with them in front of Harmer, the back loop got caught in the pedal pin and I fell off quite badly. :$

Erm they seem wide enough for me, they were really odd to ride with at first but now they've bedded in I cannot ride with any other shoes. If I did that drop gap with a pair of nikes or vans etc I'd definitely be way worse off. These feel like an external layer of skin that's rubber if that makes sense?

EBay, I got a pair of size 9s, normally a ten but was hoping for the best, bit too tight, and far to stiff for my liking, I think 5tens are as stiff. Lookin at fg shoes but needs to try em on 1st

I have 2 year old 5tens and they're still stiff as f**k. Perfect for xc and dh but not trials really.

duffs gambler---Had mine for two years was like wearing clouds on your feet -the sole was a soft rubber that allowed your toes to curve round the peddals -

These ones

Fg have a hard sole and are nice and stiff. Maybe not what your after by the sounds of it.

I'd recommend 5/10 freeriders for wide ass feet. I got some 5/10 spitfires recently but they were too thin for my fat feet >_<

Ribos are ok, I used Nike Cortez shoes for at least 5 years (the same pair!) back in the days when I was riding a lot. I'd highly recommend them to everyone, some of my mates bought them and found the quality went down the drain though. Not sure whether this still applies. I bought my pair for 30 quid around 2005 and changed over to Ribos in 2010.

similar to the5/10 then? Ideally I'd love amother pair of the ribos I have now, got the off here about 2 years ago, been spot on. Not too keen on the jisties (so) the huge ankle protection looks gash
