Due to the demise of the Planet X, I bought a steel framed 24 off mikey d, it was formally of curtisrider.

Spec:

Custom steel frame, his words " a bit shorter than a zoot and a bit higher in the middle "

Ashton forks

Bb7 on front, v on rear

Rear pro 2 trials on an onza reggie rim

Front atomlab dhr rim on a nova tech disk hub

Virus BMX cranks with dmr trials bash

Tt highrise bars and bbb 90x35 stem

Needs a proper seat and post, this integrated one I got for the Planet X is too steep. It feels good, very spinny and feels very well put together. And if I do manage to crack it, it can be welded up fairly easily. My mod is gonna take a back seat for a while now, see if I can enjoy riding again

Changed the stem to a 110x35, and the gearing to 22-16. It's transformed how it feels. So much easier to hop and spin now. I learnt disasters and smith to feebles (think that's what it is) today. Loving riding again. Steel deffo feels a lot more forgiving than ally, I can tell the difference. Can only imagine what an arcade feels like

Looks great now, good job! I'm glad you are enjoying it and that is etting you back into enjoying riding, it really is a whippy and fun frame! It may feel a little more forgiving as it has quite thin Reynolds tubes upfront

Cheers dude, I am. Next job is some bouncy tyres, am torn between holy rollers, moto rt's or moto diggers

Yeah, it does feel kinda numb at the back, I suspected it might be the tyre. Gonna go dual moto digger I think, although moto rt's are tempting me

Edit: ordered a pair of moto diggers off chain reaction this morning. £32 delivered for the pair. Not bad I think

For the time being. Actually had really good fun down the skatepark the other day. It rides loads better now with the lighter gearing and longer stem, plus bars in the right place now. I hope the tyres give it a better feel though, these ones are shite

Holy rollers are pretty light so you're going to end up with more spring and a better bike feel. The Schwalbe inner tubes from my experience are the better ones to buy. (This makes a massive difference in terms of how much you will like the tyres) Bike is looking fab! I hope that you get what you want out of it and keep to it :)

Had a few issues yesterday following the fitment of new tyres. Lack of clearance means I can't run 22-16 gearing, I've had to go down to 22-15 and move the wheel back so the tyre doesn't rub the brake cable. Am looking at getting some magura mounts brazed on so I can run 22-16 gearing and have enough clearance to have the wheel where I want it. Other than that, it rides loads better with bouncier tyres on. The alternative is to put another link in the chain so I can run 22-16, but I don't know if I have enough dropout left and I've just sold my heatsink tensioner. Hindsight is a wonderful thig isn't it
