Do you pull your rear brake when you front wheel hop?

i let my back wheel keep spinning + dont touch the brake. you get a tiny bit more giroscopics and makes the back of the bike a bit calmer. i might be explaining it wrong but basically you know when you gap, you pull the brake at the last second because otherwise it feels like the bike looses movement? its like that exept with up to fronts too :)

well i think anyway, i dunno how to explain it really and what i said might be wrong or im missing something but hey its better than nothing

its like wheelies. when the front wheel is spinning its easier to control. kinda like that but with the back wheel... again i might not be making sense :S

no you make sense fine that's basically what I'm trying to say, the bike feels like a brick with the rear brake on but like a feather with it off, better for balancing. I just wasn't sure if I was doing it right haha

doesn't actually make a difference, that's noticeable anyway. thinks it's quite obvious

try a manual with a bit of speed, pull the front brake. it'll be exactly the same on the back. :)

also i reckon keeping the back brake on makes it worse, because you cant stroke backwards if you need to

we are talking about front wheel hops. not manuels. i believe it makes a difference when gapping, but minimul

i know, but it'll be the same for the back wheel too surely...

it seems odd to argue as I was the one asking about it, but he's right. With back brake on it's a struggle , with it off I can adjust my feet position when I hop, making it easier... I that makes sense

Pull the back brake so the pedals are fixed and you can scoop the back wheel up better was always my idea on it

it's just I can't quite get the right foot position when I lock the brake, I've noticed if I lock if after I adjust my crank position it doesn't make much difference, it's just I feel a bit cramped. Hopefully not too big for my mod haha
