Re-kindling the love. Sams Rockman Slate XL build.

Its been well over a year now since I laid up my last bike after Radfest 2013 and sold it on.

Work commitments, getting my car, and generally just settling down into "life" outside of education took time and money.

Now I'm in a pretty happy situation financially, I figured I'd get another bike built and travel round the country a little with it and see some old and new faces.

It'll take time as I'm building it week by week but it would be nice to see it progress on here for all to see, with suggestions on the way!

I've already purchased the frame, a Rockman Slate XL:

And as of tonight these immaculate Trialtech Sports!

Next on the list is a headset to have the fork properly fitted to the frame, and then a stem and handlebars to complete the frame set as it were on which the rest of the bike can be built around!

Im still looking for much of the above, if you have anything that may interest me see my wanted thread and give me a message.

Looking forward to getting on the bike again :)

Edit:

Headset and bottom bracket sourced and bought! Frame kit and associated bearings essentially complete.

Spec so far:

- Rockman Slate XL

- Trialtech Sport 4 bolt 26"

- Echo SL headset black

- Try-All 127.5 ISIS BB

Nice to see you back in the game lad. Ever a stalwart of a yorkshire group ride, which sadly don't happen anymore

Cheers mate. Many of the Scunny/Donny lads ride together still? Had a an absolute ball with everyone the last few times before I stopped.

Yeah we do, sticking to street bikes through winter while its slippy and shite, we were out crimbo eve and got to Rock City a fair bit as well. My echo 24 is undergoing a light makeover, so will be ready for the warmer dryer weather Edited by bing

Im planning on sorting myself something street/bmx following completion of this, if you're all still heading to Rock City then give me a shout. Hull way every weekend and its only a 20 min drive for me.

Nice to see you're back mate. This Summer will be the onnnnnnnnnnnnne!

Be great to see you Dan!

Still very much on the look out for parts for this, in dribs and drabs.

Sourced a crankset/freewheel/bashring but in need of a stem and bar to "complete" the frame set as it were.

Anyone got any of the old NO-WAR Try-All Carbon Bars knocking around?

I need wheels tyres a crankset bars stem and brakes along with associated bits to complete it. All money I currently want/need to spend elsewhere. If it doesn't sell I'll finish it later but at present the money would be lovely.

Well, it's built.. ish.

Waiting on my snail cams, axle bolt washers and some fresh grips and forks.

Does anyone know who can make me up a steerer brace/extension for my Karbons? Too short by around 25mm and while I've bought new forks I love the feel of the Karbons and would like to have them there to use when I wish...

Crankset was a right bitch. My freewheel had been installed with both a bashring and spacer behind it. Took the piss to remove! Used said spacer behind my driveside BB cup and fitted freewheel with the bash and everything aligns in perfect harmony..

How are people rating Trialtechs pads?

She's done!

Rides brilliantly.

Spec is.

Rockman Slate XL

B1K3 eklipse fork

SL headset

Tryall 3D stem

Trialtech bars

Tryall BB

Trialtech SL cranks and bashring

Jitsie freewhweel

Breath pedals

Try all/breath front wheel

Tryall K2/Rockman rear wheel

Tryall shift front

Minion rear

Racingline brakes front and rear full TI kit

TR clamps

Coust pads front and rear

The forks have impressed me initially. Properly stiff and with not much rake they make front wheel moves super easy.

I apologize for the gash photo, phone camera is kak
