Your Favourite Video of You

I was feeling nostalgic and watched my videos, and realizing an older one was my favourite got me wondering about yours.

Whether it be because you preferred your riding style back then, or loved a particular bike, have fond memories of the time it was filmed or simply like the editing, (tl;dr:) what is your favourite video of you, and why?

The only thing you can't choose it for is because the riding is better. That's just something that hopefully happens over time. Try to pretend all your videos have the same level of riding.

I'd be particularly interested to hear from the long-term riders.

For me, I think it is this one:

Memories of better times.

It was a close call with the one immediately before it because I really, really loved the bike I was riding, and one of the more recent ones, but watching this one back leaves me feeling the best.

You cannot have a "draw" and post multiple videos. Pick one.

Edit: If your newest video is genuinely your favourite then don't think you can't post it.

Just trying to point out it might not be, so give the older ones some consideration too ;)

I have thought about this in the past and have always been torn between the video you made of me and the one i did of myself a month or so earlier. Both are from the year i had in mind so it doesn't make a difference which one as they both do the same job.

Reason being that it reminds me of a much simpler time when weekends revolved solely around riding and having a laugh. The biggest of my worries involved scraping some money together for train tickets or fuel for a lift the following Saturday.

this, just becausee we have both been off bikes for 4+ years and now after 3-4 weeks we are back up to scratch, which is a great feeling

Post a video Ross.

Gah it's a hard one. I think the reason Ive went for this one is that it reminds me of traveling around riding new places for the first time, riding in-between demos and in-between filming for a TV game show (weird). It's also on a bike I had built by Marino which had eccentric dropouts, which worked really-really well!

Nice Ross - that was a PROPER video.

This is probably my favourite. I like the song, I think i's moderately entertaining and I worked hard on getting some lesser known London locations.

As always, thanks to YouTube for raping the quality and making it look like it was filmed on a Nokia 3210.

First one I made after a year of riding I think. I only made three videos but I think the first one was closest to actually showing how'd I ride when I'm riding around by myself, and there's a few clips I think are pretty cool. Plus I'm wearing my favourite t-shirt which in a few weeks would be set on fire along with a copy of MBUK as revenge for tying someone to a tree in cold blood. I paid for my actions that day.

Oh and it's hard to forget how annoyed I was that my free trial didn't mention the watermark it added.

Mine has to be this from 2006, even though it's 9 years old I just love the way Jonny Jones made it, editing, filming, song choice, general vibe, and it was all filmed in one really hot Sunday afternoon.

From Jonny's DVD "Our Summer"

I wouldn't be surprised if most people were to pick their older videos. It's generally a case of being younger had no/ less stress, no pressure, more enjoyment, more learning, more friends, no injuries, most people were generally better skilled as they were riding more, and it goes on. I know i feel as riding was a lot better to me 10 years ago, i was wearing less protection and i felt i was still in the game. Bloody kids :giggle::rolleyes:

Don't recall seeing that one of you before Flipp! Weird seeing brakes.

Good choice Leon, that one i've not seen before and favour that over your newer ones. Really dialled back then by the looks of things. How old are you now?

Thanks! I'm 31 now, so only 22 in the vid, lighter, fitter, rode more, more time, didn't have shit like footjam whips & G turns to learn!

Part of it is nostalgia too for most people. Plus that Zebdi was the best bike ever.

This is an easy one for me. I was really pushing my riding in this video. There are still lines in there that I'd struggle with now 13 years later.

<good video>

That video was really cool Dave - looking back at old school footage like that the bikes can occasionally look like absolute shit to ride, but you made that look really good (Y) As Eskimo mentioned too, super high level of riding considering the time!

After having a look through the few vids I have got it was a toss up between this and Ben Travis' one camera angle comp vid.

Riding wasn't exactly spectacular but I was really enjoying this bike with brakes and without and wish I'd stuck with the setup, makes me want another Inspired.
