Charlotte Coen Love Trials For Girls Summer road trip

World elite rider I happen to know said we will see 8 to 9 palettes in the women world elite finals soon. Currently it is around 7, I think. I'd reckon 12-13 and 10-11 palettes are the natural biological limits.

I think it'll be more. Just get one really high jumping specialist on a trials bike and he'll jump higher than that. :)

It had everything I look for in a trials video

  • Euro-pop
  • Dodgy 'star wipe' style transitions
  • Tactical dabs
  • Bikini tops/bottom
  • Children
  • Topless men

Did anybody else hear 'Sultans of Swing' by Dire Straits at 6:40? Listen carefully and you can hear it between the racket of steel drums.

Way to go with the sexism, chaps.

I doubt she made a video so you could assess her as, or reduce her to, a sexual object. It's little wonder this sport has such minor female participation. Show some respect please and focus on the riding.

And as for the ignorant comments regarding the assumed limits of female physicality - that also have no place in this thread - you should try attending a gymnasium. The females I experienced in this context, when clearly committed to the practice, had high levels of ability that I believe would translate very well into riding beyond which some of you assume is possible. In fact, generally the females were more impressive in their weight to strength ratio, balance, etc. than the males at this particular gymnasium. I'd assume such heightened ability relates to a greater female presence in the respective types of gymnastics I experienced, both historically and presently, which trials obviously lacks. It relates to the way in which each male generation picks up from the last as the sport evolves. Women, I would assume like men, tend to look to one another to gauge the limits of what's possible for themselves rather than the opposite sex so much.

I hardly visit the forum anymore. This type of behavior reminds me why.

Are we reading the same comments or have some been deleted?

Fair play for some of those comp lines, I know from experience that they are a nerve racking place to be and then having sections that push you makes it even worse, you kept your cool and did well, keep it up!

Judging from this video she doesn't seem to have crazy strenght/bouncyness(which isn't a bad thing as she has other great skills)

but yeah some other female (such as Janine from Australia) can be really strong/powerfull

with more female involve in the sport we could for sure have the pleasure to discover some crazy female athletes :)

Correct, she still lacks some strenght but is a lot younger then J9. We are working that for next season where we expect her to be a lot stronger. But she has great technique and excellent ballance. Which gives her a lot of potential to grow, more than when at her age she would be just have a lot of power but lack technique :)

Weight to strength ratio? Who cares about this? If people say that women won't reach the heights men do, they are right. End of story.

And pass them easily; not my point though. The best man will always reach more than the best women. That's just genetics and has nothing to do with machismo.

I agree but the fact you missed the point made by Ben made me comment

Female athletes can be as impressive as men no question

but of course, there's a reason why they compete in separate divisions ;)

maybe my first comment started all this so I m sorry

What I meant by "She'll probably never side hop or gap silly distances but she's got serious skills"

was that, with her visible physical attribute, she ll likely never going to ride in a strong/powerfull style that I usually enjoy in trials riding,

however I still enjoys very much the way she rides her bike because of her other skills (balance, composure, endurance, etc)

I hope this videos gets more comment on her actual riding and less about her clothes choice/ men vs women athletics

She deserves it ;)

We delibirated waited and developped her balance/composure/endurace and especially technique first. Now that she has turned 18 we are going to work on her strength. The goal is not to change her style completely, she will also have the more smooth/technical style. but with the training we plan for this winter we hope she will improve a lot next season

That's the clever way to do it :)

plus Kenny B and Gilles Coust were never the biggest most explosive guys around, but yet they very often dominated comps
