Probably because the disc mount would snap off after not a lot of riding? A lot of old frames used a generic disc mount that wasn't ideal for trials and the forwards/backwards movement that goes through a trials disc.

Ever done a drop gap to a rail with a rear disc on a big wheel? No thanks lol.

To be fair it's one of the better disc mounts for that era of trials but it still wouldn't hold up that well today.

Here is one the above frames almost finished, just waiting on a few bits to arrive like seat post, peddles, stem, and front brake so can then finally take it for a ride. Also have a matching planet x saddle to replace the out of place mini seat.

Must admit I haven't ridden it yet as need to get the rear wheel re laced up.

But I have a longer Thompson Stem sitting around spare if need be.
