Every time I frown or prod me face, it hurts. I now remember a) why I hate sunburn and b ) why I bought a stupid looking hat which keeps the sun off me.

Ow.

On the upside, my Focus had A/C turned upto the max all the way home, and a 3 scoop thorntons icecream helped too.

Cracking riding alround, amazing pork sarnies, took way more shots per hour than I do at any comp, and learned that Andy is good at interviews.

Ow... Shower and E45 now.

It was a great day! Fantastic tribute to DJ with great riding and great peeps.

Managed to confuse/insult a few people by getting confused putting names to faces for the first time/again after 1 year gone by!

The garden was really inspiring, as has been the incredible way Charlie Sue and others close have brought it all together and organised this event again. So cool to see their hard work rewarded with such a cracking turn out and excellent weather.

I've shifted racial groups now thanks to my concentrated burst of sun.....

What a great day! :)

The weather was SUPER hot! Over 100 people were there, a TV crew showed up along with JJ and Radcliffe doing there usual camera work.

The garden was really neat, the plaque on the center-piece was great and the pink wooden bunny logo was a great touch too :bunny:

It took me about 4 hours to get there and 2 and a half to get back, no thanks to some seriously sketchy driving from Steve (Heatsink) :S I assumed him being old = safe driver.. I was wrong.

I had a really good time though, loved seeing everyone and I'm really glad I could make it down to be there :)

Olly.

P.S. OnzaBoyMark is much sexier in real life

Only just got in! And we left at 7:30, think my sat nav needs checking!

Seriously good day. Weather was perfect, if not a little hot. Riding was top notch, food was brilliant. but most of all, the socialising was awesome. I spent hardly any time riding, but it was still easily worth the 170 mile journey up there.

Many, many thanks to Sue, Charlie, and anybody else who helped to make the whole day possble, you did a truely grand job.

See you again next year?!

I had a wicked day, was really sweet. Everything went sweet apart from me falling off more that I would have liked to :ermm: but was an awesome day.

OnzaBoyMark is my new god, he is so awesome and gave me an inner tube after I ruined mine in about 15minutes, love you man ;)

Oh and thanks to that lad who lent me his pump what I couldn't work

That was me ^_^ no worries man, had a great day. No doubt i'll be there next year again.

Oh...and thanks to FatMike for pointing out to me when I fell in the skip that I snapped my maggie lever :( but then not all was lost because I took both my trials bikes. :shifty:

Gotta get some sleep now if I have any chance of racing 4X tomorrow >_<

Absolutely awesome day.

The garden is a real testament to all the hard work put in by everyone, especially sue and charlie. It really is a very fitting reminder of the legacy left by DJ. As for the weather, well what can i say, DJ was sitting up there in the cloudless sky smiling down on all of us.

Some real mental riding going on, not just huge ups, gaps, and sidehops, but some awe inspiring street lines by the likes of shrewsbust and co. Everyone i spoke to thoroughly enjoyed the day and agreed that the pig roast was definately one of the highlights!!

I can't wait to see everyones footage and photos of the day.

Big thanks for sue and charlie for organising it all, and to everyone whose done any work on the garden, or helped with the fund raising (bought a t-shirt, hoodie etc).

Hopefully the FBM website will be back up at some pojnt in the next month. but if anyone has any pics they want hosting in a zip file etc, let me know and i'll lob them up on my site (Y)

Cheers

Andy Hill (riding the bright paintjob t-rex :) )

"Charlie asked myself and two others (SAMWELL and Adrian Jordan) to start a new thread so that people could post pics, vids (if any) and any general reflection and thoughts of today's tribute to our friend, DJ.

I guess I would suggest, if you have pics, post them in the riding pics sub-forum and then link to the thread you create in here?

My thoughts:

Personally I had a great day. Managed to get 3 hours of footage for 'Our Summer' and got some quality shots of the course (at 9am before anybody arrived) as well as, of course, the Memorial Garden.

Everybody was having a great time and the weather was slowly turning everybody golden brown... but mostly cherry red haha!

Very much looking forward to next year's installment! Many thanks to Charlie, Sue and everybody else who helped setup the course and indeed Charlie, Sue and Spoons for putting in so much emotional hard work to get the Memorial Garden looking as amazing as it did today!!

Rest in Peace Deeej, gone but very much not forgotten! :deej::bunny::deej: "

Written by Jonny Jones. When I moved all the posts from the other topic into this one, it screwed around with the times, so Jonny's post wasn't at the start of the topic, and the it didn't make much sense. My bad.
