Rim Cleaning

It's more likely to make it worse, seeing as Vodka is like 40% ethanol the rest of the 60% probably won't evaporate like the ethanol. Just spend a quid on getting some meths that you know will definitely evaporate quickly and also get rid of the crap on your rim.

Hi,

My main problem is sand and dust rather than oil and grease. I have used a high pressure hose to clean my rims with good effect. Getting rid of the fine grit that sits in your grind marks makes a big difference to brake performance and should help a grind last longer too.

So what would you use to wipe off the rust that forms on the center of a disc rotor?

Rust spots look bad.

Wire brush and Muc off, then clean with water.

Wipe with a clean cloth and jobs a good un

Hey got an old spare half full / empty bottle of vodka, seeing as i have no thinners left, can i use this?

quick reply plez :)

xx

Drink the vodka, wash the rim with a hose on a high power/pressure setting. The brake will be cleaner and the vodka rushing to your head will alter your pereption on the brake and you'll think its great. ;)

Muc-Off.

Spray on using the bottle, spray off using an old bottle full of water, ride around with brake on for a few minutes to dry it out, and voila, one immensely loud/grabby brake.

This works for smooth rims, never tried it on a grind.

Using Vodka is a complete waste, you heathen. Drink the damn stuff!
