  1. Need some advice, have a raceline rear lever, all was fine. Fancied a change and purchased a jitsie lever. But I can’t get a bleed on it at all. Once bleed kit is removed it feels empty. If I wind tpa in I get some feel, but it’s spongy. Literally like it’s full of air. Gave up after maybe 20 bleeds. Can’t bath bleed as it internal routing. So put my raceline back on and now same problem. New bleed kit too. Bleeding from slave up to lever. I’ve noticed when I let my thumb off the syringe at the slave end water goes back down the bleed tube at the lever and pushes the syringe back at the slave. So by the time I’ve removed tube from lever and replaced bolt it’s empty. Then I remove the syringe from the slave and water starts leaking out the slave bleed port before I can get the bolt in. I’ve bled hundreds of brakes over the years and never had this. New olives and shroud nuts. Tried everything. Anyone got some advice ?
  2. I’m not sure mate, came like that. First ride last night and seems fine. Will be a while before Ill try to regrind it
  3. Recently retired, haven’t rode in around 18 months. Just turned 40. But I’ve got the itch again. So went and picked a new bike up to play on. Hopefully won’t break my neck
  4. Can't tell without looking at my bike but that little step as I mentioned looks the same as the problem I have . It's not machined high enough . That step sits on the outer teeth ring of the freewheel . If they machined it higher it wouldn't rub . Needs to be 2-3 mm more . Basically in line with the ring itself They are now sending me the bash ring for free , I'll still have to pay for the tool and shipping but at least I'm getting somewhere .
  5. Hi Karl, Yes, the old bash ring is use for Echo freewheel, if you use Trial tech freewheel please use our new model bash ring and no need the thin spacer. Thanks Stepbike Latest email , looks like a design issue , there's nonway that freewheel is coming off without the tool . I weigh 18 stone so its going to be seriously tight now lol I might ask them to send the tool and bash for free , don't see why I should pay for a mistake they've made , and it's not mentioned on tarty or there website regarding different bashes for different freewheels .
  6. Ummmm yeah same problem I saw but can't understand why it's not mentioned anywhere . If anything the bash tapers the other way , thin base and very slight 0.5 mm ish taper bigger to bash ... Maybe they've realised a mistake and are correcting it ? Can't see why I should be paying more for a different bash . I'll happily pay for the tool . Than wait for tarty to get some . Although shipping from America may take a while . Seriously pissed me off now !
  7. Yes it is , the step sits against the crankset , helps stop the bash from turning when tightening the freewheel on for right footers Hi Karl, Ok we can sales you the freewheel tool for Urgent case. The freewheel tool is US19.9, also the bash ring for trial tech free wheel is US16.8, postage to UK is US9.8 by air. Total US46.5. Our paypal account: stepbike@hotmail.com Parcel will ready 1-2days after received payment. Thanks Stepbike Just had the above email from them , awaiting reply about the trial tech bash ring . First I've heard . Surely it wouldn't need a different bash ? All free wheels should sit the same ?
  8. Just recently purchased this crankset from tartybikes , using my existing trial tech 18tooth freewheel , and all fitted together nicely . The cranks have gone very stiff , takes some force to turn them either way . It got worse as the freewheel screwed itself on tighter . Myself and a mate can tell it's the bashing pushing against the outer teeth ring on the freewheel . If I didn't use the bash and instead used the supplied spacer , it wouldn't touch the outer teeth and sit lovely . But it seems the bash is an issue . Need a very thin spacer between bash and freewheel . Problem is I can't get the freewheel off now as the tool isn't available to buy .... Kind of stuck with what to do . I thought maybe the steel on the freewheel would wear away the aluminium gradually and ease off but it seems to be getting tighter . Anyone got any suggestions ? Not going to ride at this rate .. Cheers
  9. They do wear stockings haha, keeps them warn in the winter!
  10. 3 metres but enough left for two crossovers. Always handy to have a little spare
  11. Haha yeah it does look Badass I suppose .think smooth rims always help with that.certainly riding nice at the minute.
  12. Jitsie clamps are strangely the best I've used. However they are actually too good they cause a different issue. Most washer less clamps are to soft and bend on me, the try all clamps with the raised part that slots in the slave groves were good but limited in / out adjustment. Now these clamps are so well made and stiff that if you over tighten them they actually put enough force on the slaves that that cause the pistons to stick and not let the pads return. I thought my slaves, the original maguras were knackered so bought racelines yesterday thinking cnc'd aluminium would be stiffer and not crush in causing the piston to stick but they do the same if over tightened. Just a bit less torque and they are perfect. Great clamps and super stiff. Don't think I'll ever need to try anything else. Hope that helps
  13. thought id post a progress picture of whats been going on with my kloud . mainly took the karbon forks off and changed back to trialtech.new wheels , trial tech lite hubs on clean rims, trial tech lite sprocket , clean snail cams , race line front slaves ,few odd bits and bolts here and there ,jitsie clamps .had clear hosing on but after seeing stans kloud i knew i should have gone yellow , so i did !sorry stan !few more bits and she's finished ......
