I use a BB7 on the rear of my Zoot. Get it set up right and you can have great hold and bite. The size rotor you want to use so cancel out the increase torque from bigger wheels compared to my set up.
As a slightly low budget option its great! Maintainance is simple too. Big pros if you are new to trials as you can spend a long time faffing with a hydro brake and still not get as good result.

I managed to get the Zoot pro wheelset for £100 on ebay and some avid bb7s from china...took it to about 150. Found that even with a booster the frame was too bendy as you have said
