Assembling a brake cable is quite an easy task, knowing the right the info can help make sure your brakes stay running smooth for a long period of time, without frequent adjustment. It's important to use a quality set of cable cutters, using cheap ones (or even scissors!) is a bad idea, the cable will almost certainly become frayed resulting in a weakened and tatty looking cable.
Once your brake's assembled use a very light oil and drop no more than 3 drops of oil (no more than 3 drops! Okay!?) into the cable outer, after a few rides the oil will work it's way down the cable lubricating at high friction points giving your brake a very nice feel and also keeping it in good working order for a long time to come.
