Deng Qiang is a former Chinese rider who established the Echo brand in 1998 with his friend Huang GuangHua. He has since manufactured and marketed the following brands :
The company also manufactures matching branded componentry for these brands including cranks, headsets, handlebars etc. The components are often very similar accross the different brands, but with small aesthetic differences and different logos. Many of the components are available in a wide range of anodised colours. He recently released a hydraulic rim brake similar to Magura's HS33, intended specifically for trials.
He has sponsored a number of up and coming young riders, including Craig Lee Scott and Neil Tunnicliffe.
Urban legend has it that Deng has a CNC'd head, that he can anodize parts by looking at them, that he has a CNC machine instead of genitalia, and that you can bleed your brake with his tears, with which it will never slip. Furthermore, Deng's tears are the only thing other than Magura's Royal Blood that you can bleed an Echo brake with without it leaking.
