A HS11 lever.
A HS11 lever.

Magura HS11 another product in Magura's range of hydraulic rim brakes. They are operated by hydraulics; when the rider compresses the lever the force is transmitted down the tubing to the pistons which push the pads against the rim of the wheel. HS11s are lower in the range than HS33s.

The most noticable difference between HS11s and HS33s is the lack of a Turbo pad adjuster, which means adjusting the brake lever reach is more time consuming. The lever body is made of a composite substance on HS11s which gives the lever more flex than the metal HS33 body. The master cylinder is also a different size, meaning the brake has less lock than HS33s. For this reason they are not so suited to trials use. The HS11 uses a barbed fitting to connect the hose to the lever instead of an olive on the hose which is used on the hs33. So in order for you to make your hs11 into a hs33, you have to get a hs33 lever ,cut the barbed fitting off the hose and slide a new olive onto the hose and re attach it back onto the rest of the brake. The system then needs a rebleed to get rid of any air in the system.

The slave cylinders are the same as those on a HS33, so they use the same pads as HS33s.
