A V-Brake noodle

A noodle is a component of a V - Brake . Usually metal tube terminated by a ferrule where the outer housing stops and allows the cable through to the brake arms , thus achieving linear pull regardless of the direction in which the cable enters . Noodles can vary in length and curvature , and usually conceal a thin plastic guide rod charged with lubricant . They are cheap and widely available .
