Simtra Bikes is a Canadian bike and parts brand that was started in 2004 by Christian Simard. Christian started Cycles Simtra in 1999 as an importer/distributor for niche bike parts and frames in Canada. The Simtra line consists of street and trials frames and parts. Their first trials product was the ST-1 trials frame that made a mark on the trials scene as one of the first frames to actually have a working disc mount. They added an extra wide McSpander trials bar and stem to the line up for the 2007 season. The brand is gradually changing and gearing more into trials. The lastest product is a MOD frame that features a 135mm rear spacing with vertical dropouts. Called the ST-2, it is still at the prototype stage. New products are on their way and should be available for the 2008 season. Their frames and parts are designed in Canada and produced in Taiwan and have started to be sold internationally.
