Wheelbase
From TrialsWiki
[edit] Wheelbase
The wheelbase of a bike is the distance between the front and rear axles. Trials bikes have evolved to have wheelbases of up to, and over, 1100mm. Shorter bikes are still preffered by some riders however, as they are often "flickier" and "spinnier" allowing certain tricks to be pulled off easier than with a longer wheelbase.
Most models of trials bike are available in 2 or more lengths, the choice is often down to customer discretion but there are several factors to consider when deciding on wheelbase preference.
[edit] Long bikes
- easier to tap/touchhop
- balance is easier to control
- some find they perform better on natural than short bikes
