  2. Yeah yeah, and we're meant to believe an airplane melted through steel girders in the twin towers. Can you say baaaa?!

  4. Yeah, even at relatively slow speeds that sort of mass is a HUGE amount of momentum. Bear in mind that structures like bridges are, to a point, built to be as light as possible for a given purpose. Yeah ok, there are safety factors involved that increase the bulk somewhat, but generally speaking they're not going to be using more material than legislation requires them to. As such, you have a structure built to do the job for normal use, but external factors like A MASSIVE LADEN SHIP DRIVING STRAIGHT INTO IT tend to be outside of the design parameters. It's hard to imagine quite how much force there was from what is a seemingly slow crash, but that mass is the critical part. I've seen a figure of approx 8kts impact speed, which is around 15kph. Using the 120,000,000kg you mention, Mike, that's like a fully laden artic lorry crashing into the support at something like 38,000kph. That's faster than the escape velocity of the Space Shuttle, and about twice the orbit velocity of the ISS for some context.

Does anyone use a quick link on a KMC Z1EHX chain?

  7. Isn't it something like 120,000 tonnes? I can't imagine much standing up to that.
  8. Because it's a f**king huge ship at pace and that support structure, oddly enough, supports the structure so when it's compromised the bridge fails.
  9. Why would the whole bridge collapse from just the impact of hitting one support structure?
  10. Little further today, new hoses and the chain / tensioner.. all that is left is to whack on some old rotors and bleed the brakes, then she is ready!
  11. Kinda goofy watching his body language with those manual lines.
  12. They are Crewkerz pads if they are transluscent. Amazing pads indeed. My favorite pads of all time are the Try-All clear ones. Probably made by Thierry Klinkenberg. Similar to the red ones but with much better hold.
  13. I don't know the brand from the pads, I got them with a brake. I thought they were Crewkerz orange ones, cause they are translucent. I think they are my favourite pads. I love the feel and it seems to me they are better in wet conditions than the Coust one.
  14. Trialtech pads for the win! Nice bike, these never get old
  15. Hello, recently I was looking for a cheaper bike with a front disc brake. I found an used Atomz Quark II for a good price. It is a medium size. Two years ago I bought a small one after more than 10 years without comp bike. I could not really appreciate the small one, cause I had basically no reference to compare to. So after riding different bikes (cleep, jealousy, freed), I was looking forward to find how good the bike is. Even if the bike is more than 10 years old, it rides really well. The geometry is not too far from a cleep or a jealousy, only the bottom bracket is 15mm lower. It had already a through axle and built-in tensioner. It seems to me that the bike is less stif than the cleep and less reactive. But is ride really well though. It is overall a solid bike. The carbon plate to hide the HS33 hose was missing so I built a smaller part from Kydex. I think I will swap the brake lever for an old 2005 HS33 black one (the current one is from another bike) and the Louise lever blade for one with TPA. Hope you like it.

James couldn't have explained it any better. Alex Albon, stands a better chance of getting a point for the team on race day compared Logan Sargent.

  18. Their style is the best even in comps where most other riders' are non existent...
  19. Thanks for sharing. I follow a few Asian YouTube channels, they like to ride comp trials and/or natural grounds, it is nice to watch. Will post a list of them maybe.
