  2. You will save the most weight on the wheels. Change rims for Inspired Team or Spank Race 33 with double butted spokes. This will give you -790g. Tubolito -200g. Truvativ Descendant/Sram GX DUB Cranks -500g. Easy to buy second hand.

  4. So, as V-brake adapters and pads are now back on the market, it's time to change these HS33 brakes for something better. Here is the setup I aim for: Levers: Avid SD7 Pads: Heatsink (if they make some) or TNN Outer and inner cable: Shimano SP51 or Odyssey Linear Slick along with Clarks or any pre-stretched teflon covered cable. Adapters: Heatsink or Tarty ones depending on how they look. I am now in need of calipers. I don't know if they really make a difference performance wise so what should I get? Avid Ultimate or Shimano XTR are overpriced but maybe they are the best? Otherwise what other option do I have that suit trials use? I have always used basic Shimano ones in the past but now I really want to know if something is best? Thanks for the advices and your time!
  5. That is amazing news. Thanks for that.

  7. Carbon road cranks for a trials bike? I love a sketchy, inappropriately used Chinese bike part, but that's too far IMO. Maybe the money would be better spent elsewhere. Rotating weight perhaps? What is the rest of your spec now?
  8. Hello everyone! I was looking on the internet and by chance I just saw on aliexpress one can buy bike components, then I started to see what I find, and as I currently have an inspired that weighs 11.3Kg I'm looking for anywhere to lose weight, and I have found this https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005005928863215.html so the first question that comes to my mind is, am I a genius or is there a trick to it? second question, how do I know if it is compatible with my inspired flow? they (inspired) don't say what kind of crankset it has so it makes it hard to tell (although supposedly the hope crankset is compatible with inspired). https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/cranks_pair/hope_evo_crankset_no_spider_6873mm/c514p13016.html Any help is welcome (also, if someone can tell me of other cranksets that are compatible and worth trying I would appreciate) thanks!!
  9. Yes, exactly that. All of the TNN stock, designs, intellectual property, contacts etc. were purchased from TNN a while ago (not sure on the exact date, maybe a year ago?). It's taken a while to find UK suppliers / manufacturers who will mould the pads to the exacting spec required, but it looks like things are finally moving forward now!
  10. What do you mena they have taken TNN side of things? Is TNN now british?
  11. Last week
  12. Yes, testing of the 3rd prototype has been perfect, so after one further tiny tweak and assembly they should be available for sale in around 10-14 days. Three mounting positions (narrow, middle and wide), very low profile so nice and stiff, and a reinforced brake boss to ensure strength and durability 👍 Pads... I'm not certain on this one. Ben & Charlie have been taking care of the TNN side of things. I know there has been good progress this last week though with both CNC companies for backings and pad material supplier: https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/brake_pad_refills/tnn_engineering_btm_refills/c552p14305.html I am sure my brainpower will be drafted in at some stage to help with V pads 😅
  13. As you are working on V-brake adapters, will you also make dedicated pads?
  14. Instant buy!!!! V-brake pads next ?
  15. A bit of concentration this past week and I've finally completed the V Adapters! More info in the News section 🙂
  16. Great news V brake fans. Heatsink V Adapters now available! https://www.heatsinkbikes.com/v-adapters
  17. Can't wait for the Vee adapters and the HS33 pads Rich is testing

One gem of a build. Didn't Clive Leeson make a long wheelbase comp version of this also?

    Interesting Sprint quali
  20. Nice! Thanks for sharing. I nearly pulled the trigger on a 240 for my MTB recently, but 90 EPs will be even better. Glad I waited / forgot now, haha.
  21. DT swiss's new hub has 90 engagement points and uses a similar but bigger version of the current 240's ratchet. With a 18/15 transmission it shall feel like a 108 POE front freewheel. The DT swiss star system is amazing, it feels less spongy than other systems and is really light and reliable. Too me the best system. It seems DT swiss won't currently offer a singlespeed version though 😐 Would be nice on an Enduro bike.

Nice to see your videos are back! The first line with your street trials is amazing! I did not expect the bar spin. The one at 3:24 is so smooth, no extra hop, Manifesto style 😍
  23. Tensioners now available, first batch sold out overnight but we've got some more made up: TartyBikes RD Hybrid Tensioner Cheeky Disc Protector including a slot (rather than the usual hole) at the axle end so it can be fitted and removed easily. This allows you to use the slot at the bottom as disc straightener tool: TartyBikes RD Disc Protector 'Wideboy' brake booster also now in stock, ready for release of V-Brake adaptors in the near future: TartyBikes RD 'Wideboy' V-Brake Booster
  24. Hi all, After a few years of absence, and in time for the 20th anniversary of Heatsink Bikes, the Heatsink Chain Tensioner is now available to buy! https://www.heatsinkbikes.com/tensioner Free postage & double sided Heatsink chainstay protector for a limited period! As is often the way, good news comes in pairs - Heatsink V Adapters are coming next week! Steve
  25. Earlier
  26. Chem trails will do that
  27. Need some rims to fit an old school bike - what's the best options here? Doesn't seem to be a lot of choice out there for rim brakes Ideal would be something like a d521 and something a bit lighter up front.
