if the seel was in incorrectly, i would imagine it would leak oil, push the pistons back into the calipre as far as they go so they sit back straight.

The tensioner doesn't look like its doing much tensioning

im not sure it matters to be honest, ive bled my brakes while the are on the bike and leave the pistons where they are normally. i also also bled brakes off the bike with the pistons pushed right back, you may need to top up the resivour once you it has self adjusted to the rotor. been quite a while since a bled my hopes and im very forgetful.
