im guessing your undoing the non-drive side first otherwise it wont work. just make sure you hold the tool in straight next time. is there enough of the bb cup sticking out of the frame to wrap mole grips around rearly tight?

the exact same thing happend on my mates bike when i lent him a mechanical hayes MX-2 but it ripped the brake straight off the frame.
