I think that if your forks are heavy enough to actually factor against your riding, it would be worth replacing them. I personally prefer hs33s all round. It is fairly essential that you use one finger braking as it allows a far greater grip on the bar.

It could be the freehub slipping slightly before it engages.....as per the previous reply, check the bike over for any loose or badly set-up components in the drivetrain.

great bike, had one now for about a year...and still going strong.....extremely light, responsive and strong...on a par with my mates level boss.

Does anybody know of a good front freewheel for around the £40 mark? I need a strong model, 16-20t, high engagement.........any ideas people?

Does anybody know where i can get a black 165mm right hand crank arm? Either an Acor Thor, DDG Orbita, Onza Muscleman or Base arm.....I've managed to thread my drive-side arm but have now been informed that Acor arms are available, although only in gray colour, and i was wondering if you can get a black version.

I think that a godd pisspot (skater style) would be best....i wear a 661 dirt lid, only around £20 and fairly light, or, the 661 mullet, pretty much the same but with a flick up at the back of the helmet.

Basically the best thing to do is 1.find a bunch of people to go out riding with....then watch and learn from them or, 2. Look at trials videos, a good place to start is "tricks and stunts" featuring Ashton and Hawyes or "Mastering the Art of Trials" by Ryan leech The tricks you should really focus on are the basics......back wheel hops, moving onto pedal kicks......trackstanding.......pivoting and just general balancing. I've got an onza woodstock and i think its pretty good to ride ........... featherlight ( 1.6 kg ) , real street geometry( quite short ), pretty strong. I bought mine for £60 and it has to be one fo the nicest bikes i've ever ridden. i had real problems trying to find info on it so if you've got any questions then post them in this topic and ill get back to you a.s.a.p.

i would have thought that the only strength you really lose is the impact strength upwards, would buckle upwards or break easier than a standard rim, in theory. i dont think that side ways buckling would be as much of an issue. I know it isnt much of an arguement for practical use but all of the pros use drilled rims, that i know of.

I cant really see any difference performance wise, having ridden with both. the only thing i noticed is that the newer style tends not to dig into your hands quite so much.

I think its some kind of weird glue substance. It is so tacky, too tacky with kool-stops. I think its better just to go with tar... Alex

When you kick the chain suddenly takes up all the power and "snaps" taught. Increases the load because its such an abrupt force.

KMC kool chain definitely, way better than any sram offerings i've tried ( pc48, pc58 ). Both srams just broke after around 3 months each

Basically i've got an onza woodstock, running a 90mm x 15* rise and i was wondering if a different stem would actually be beneficial to my riding. * I know that the bike wont make the rider, but every little counts * I only thought about this because the stock woodstock has a 100mm x 0*/5* rise stem with 1cm of spacers * The forks I have are, i think, slightly too short for it ( shorter than tuf guys etc. ) Thanks, Alex
