You don't have to say it.... after that 4 hour ride i feel it!! I will be 44 this year and Tony 43 i think. I reckon that makes us older than many of your parents, now try and imagine your dads doing this not a pretty sight!!!

Two of us over 40's riders went for a play today at our local pallet spot... we allowed youngster Robmitch to join us so we could tell him how we used to do this during the blitz on penny farthings etc etc Both Tony and i are getting a bit of confidence back, helped by 4 iburpofen before each ride!! Tony is in the white hoody, Rob in the black tarty's shirt and me in the bonce bucket with red flames (and the big nose!) Gallery HERE ON PHOTOBUCKET ... This is me trying not to think of the crack that will come from my knees when i land...

Think the r2w crew will be there.... sorry!! .. any section that is more than 2 foot high we require a stair lift, and somewhere to put our slippers whilst riding.

I alway wear shin pads... when you are as bad as me that is an essential Will hopefully be there.. i think RobMitch will be as well and if i can get a couple more of the old boys out we can have an over 40's class between ourselves

yer it was... gone down to a 115 with a 15 rise now. May get some slightly higher risers but after nearly 4 hours yesterday it felt good.

reckon i can beat you all... i have just replaced my Hope rear wheel build after 11 years. The rim has changed once but the rear xc hub is still going strong. It was one of the old original Hopes with the weird star splined disc adaptor with a screw on locking nut. It may well be put onto my Forge play bike The front wheel hub from the same era is still hanging around on another bike as well.... and i have just sold the middleburns that dated about the same, pre splined fitting HS-hd models. Still almost un scratched.

Got rob's Zoo risers to try, so fitted with Atomz stem... but have put the top spacer underneath now. Feels good so far, riding on the rocks on the sea front tomorrow so see what it is like... or if i break them

will use my Atomz Un stem when i get a nice set of risers.

cheers guys... i have swapped over to the stem i had on the A2 with echo flat bars fitted and it feels real nice. Might look a bit high but with my knackered back it feels good! Here you go... 43 year old bloke actually manages a little gap to tyre!!! well, it's a start!!!

in the garage mate could almost build the A2 back up with the spares i have How much ?... What stem height and length would you recommend... i am just under 6 foot and will be doing most of my riding old skool... both wheels on the ground with the odd back hop! (very odd if you have seen me )

High BB isn't for me... at least not the A2 anyway. Got my old Echo frame out again and built it up... needs a 74 kingz tensioner and then about done. The frame may go white at a later date... Echo Pure frame, cranks, rock ring, flat bars and Control forks, Tryall rear rim, 2 bolt booster and pedals, Gu single speed hub and 4 bolt mounts, tensile freewheel, hope mono mini trials front 203mm disc, magura rear & rock pads with monty t-piece and adamant cnc lever, unn stem, Maxxis high roller rear, conti race king front on sun ringle rim. Soon to be magura/dt swiss front hub, specialized clamp on grips, cane creek headset.

I am fairly new back into biketrial myself and over the 6 or 7 years i stopped it had changed so much i recognised almost nothing about the sport. Best thing is to ask away and ignore the tossers that just like the sound of their own keyboard. Somewhere amongst the dross you will always get the experienced riders or helpful newbies who will give you what you want. If you were to take away every question or answer that has already been given before you would only get about 30 post a day on here...
