  1. Welcome to the club. I can't wait to get back, fed up of being self employed, working at home on boring projects for peope I hate... 13th september I get my keys.
  2. How heavy are you though? I remember when they were first out people were snapping them after a matter of weeks...
  3. Do you know how light those forks are? They've only got a short lifespan really... My mate snapped a set after a year or so, and he's not that smooth really. They're not as weak as the Echo SLs or the DOB Magnesiums.
  4. Wtf Matt? Because someone called that shit lookalike you start sounding off about how everyone is retards and need to get out more? People don't have a hissy fit over an apostrophe, they just point out that it's there for a reason. It makes the English language make more sense. It's not like it actually takes any f**king effort at all to start sentences with capital letters and add the odd apostrophe in is it? I learned to write in sentences when I was in primary school for f**ks sake....
  5. I tend to buy everything from OCUK as I have free postage, 250 posts and 3 months on their forum. If somethings cheap enough to make it cheaper including postage elsewhere though, I'll buy it there. I tend to check scan.co.uk, dabs.co.uk, overclock.co.uk, ebuyer.com, aria.co.uk, microdirect.co.uk, novatech.co.uk, even maplin.co.uk sometimes. Only really check them all if I can't find something cheap enough. I ought my graphics card for £165 from Aria, and all the others were selling at £210, so it's worth checking around for big stuff. For orders less than £50 I just get it from overclockers though, less hassle.
  6. I have a set with the stickers, cracked them in two places in a couple of months of owning them, but they've not grown yet. The steerer tube is pressed and welded into the crown of the forks, but the crown flares out after a while, you can drill the crown and wack a bolt through, and lamp it up tight and it stops them flexing as much. (Or did when I did it).
  7. PC gaming is definately an expensive past time. I've spent just under £1500 on my current setup (inc desk, monitors, speakers, keyboard and mouse), and I'm not that into it really. (Just an example, I'm a web designer so all I did really was stick a decent graphics card into my current setup). It all depends on budget though. £1k will get you a nice AMD 6 core based setup with a single graphics card. £1500 will get you a nice Intel i7 setup with two graphics cards. (Although all depending which graphics cards you look at, enthusiast level cards start at around £100 and go to £500). Missed your post eskimo, I shall reply now. DDR4 isn't out until 2012, it's DDR3 at the moment. (Graphics cards are using GDDR5 though these days). It all depends what you want to spend, for dual core, £400 systems I'd always go AMD, because for a £60-70 CPU you'll get more performance from AMD, but when you're going to £200 CPUs and dual graphics cards I'd go Intel, because you can choose either ATI or nVidia graphics cards. (AMD support for nVidia SLI which allows you to connect two nVidia graphics cards together is very rare). Personally I'd get rid of both computers and put the money to any money you have saved, buy this and then add hard drives and buy a graphics card to suit your needs. It's the best value system at the moment if you ask me, I've seen HP and Dell selling worse specs for £800+.
  8. Depends on the old case you're thinking about using, but I'd recommend getting something newer. I have an Antec 300 which can be had for around £40 at the moment, which has very good airflow for the physical size of it. (Especially if you mod it like I've done in a few places).
  9. Or indeed, any information at all...
  10. Steady enough I reckon.... I don't speak over the top either, and I like to experiment with the angles. Up to you anyway mate, I'll be happy to tag along if it fits in.
  11. Pick us up Kris? I don't ride no more so I'll just be on camera duty.
  12. Whats the budget? A top end gaming rig now will cost you £3k to build, modest around £800-1k, on the cheap side around £600. The problem is for gaming, graphics card start at around £140 (for the ones you want, in my opinion). For reasons that I can bore you to death with via PM if you wish, I'd stick for the time being. Graphics cards are all due to change within the next 3 months or so (ATI 6*** series coming out). My suggestion for a really super spec future proof setup, but that its relatively cheap. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-022-OP And then budget £200-250 for a graphics card in a few months time.
  13. Cheers all! Need to have a catch up with most of you in here at some point. Got back in at around 9.30 this morning, fooking battered, I've showered, eaten and opened cards, now time for a nap. Tried to sleep in at my mates house, but he provided me with a fold out camp bed with "upto 8 years" written on it. It did not like 13 stone of me on it one bit, so I gave up and walked home.
  14. Even got a sig out of that, back of the net.

Almost makes me want to get another mod and teach myself to ride again.
  16. Leeds to Sheffield is less than an hour on the train, and roughly the same by car. Not rrrreeaallyyy the biggest distance to overcome.
  17. I'd definately recommend waiting for Sandy Bridge then, the i7 930 is a monster chip, but with new sockets on the way I'd be inclined to wait...
  18. Spec Sav. Spec or you're a right gay. Crosspost from RSQ, what do people use for editing video? Up until now I've stuck to movie maker, but I want something that is as easy to use, but that will handle 720p.
  19. Link to profile? I'm only on OCUK. Let's start a TF nerd brigade. Not much on that spec is dated really? Bad news on the 460 though, any chance of RMA?
  20. I'd stick with your spec until 2011 at least, new sockets on the way from AMD and Intel. ATI 6 series is on the way too.
  21. <in fact, f**k listing stuff. i don't want to boast...> I've not done any epic voyages or anything, the sorta thing people do in books and on telly. Suppose I'd best go and end it now then, brb.
  22. Nay bad. I'm guessing I'll see a pretty good increase then going from my 2x F3 1tb setup then. (No raid). AMD 965BE at stock. (Overclocked to the gills only takes it from 3.4ghz to 3.8ghz, so I didn't see the point given that it took a huge voltage boost to get it stable). Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H (USB3 and SATA3, yay!) 4gb G.Skill DDR3 at 1333mhz. (Could run 1600, but makes very little difference on the Phenom 2s as the memory controller is locked at 1333). Powercolor ATI 5830 (crossfire at some point). Hannspree 28" and an LG 22". (Keeping an eye out for another 22" cheap to go on the other side of the 28"). Antec 300 at the moment, I want a Haf X but can't really justify it... --------- Just to add to the discussion above, unless you're running a quad core with 4gb of ram or higher, I'd stick with 32bit. A Dual core with 2gb of ram will perform about the same with 64bit and 32bit.
  23. Blimey, looks like I'm not the biggest nerd in the vacinity for once.... What kinda spec are you both running with them?
  24. Some of you in here are either joking, or your lives are void of anything and you should end them now. Proudest achievement? College? I got the highest grade you can get at college and I'm not proud of it, it was easy...
