So the S3 screen is glued as well? How do you replace the glass then if you just buy that? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-LCD-Screen-Outer-Lens-Glass-Cover-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-S-3-SIII-i9300-/221101913771?pt=UK_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item337ab376ab#ht_2776wt_1792

No idea but I guess not, looks fairly easy to change.

I've only broken one phone in over 5 years. Wouldn't be £450 to sort anyway, I'd just buy a new screen and fit it myself. If you only crack the outer glass and it still works fine, then it's a £15~ fix, or you can get the entire LCD/digitizer for £120.

Nope no insurance, I don't believe in it. I'm hardcore like that. I've never had insurance and through never having it, have now saved enough to buy an S3 outright so seems worthwhile to me! The way I see it is that a £40 phone bill is roughly 10% of my monthly bills, and it's something I can appreciate and enjoy several times a day, whereas I never appreciate electricity or council tax in a day, they're just things that I pay for. As monthly bills go, I'm fairly happy with it.

Briefly, but I like having the interwebs to look stuff up (routes, crag information etc) and my camera and adding people to facebook and that. It's more the risk of climbing gear bashing against it in my bag, but I see your point. My mate has one, and I don't like it. Fine for dropping them but wouldn't like to twat the screen with a hammer. (Again climbing gear bashing into it). Get one, it's immense. £37 a month. 600 mins, unlimited texts and 750mb data on O2. Looks nice that. If I wasn't bothered about the colour (I really like the whiteness), then I'd probably consider one of them. The issue isn't dropping it, it's the thought of it being bashed around in my bag. Ideally I just want a solid container with some padding that I can stick my phone straight into, with it's current case still attached. Can't find anything suitable though. Anyone got any experience with docking stations and the likelihood of being able to dock my phone to charge it with the slim clippy case attached?
-
No thanks dude. Looked at the flippy one, but it's not got enough protection. The current clippy case/screen protector combo seems perfect for every day stuff, but for climbing/outdoor stuff I want something much more hardcore. Ideally a hard outer case with some form of padding inside, so I can just drop the phone in with the clippy case attached and it'll have the whole thing protected from big impacts/loads. (Think climbing gear smashing into the centre of the screen). Kinda like a solid guitar case, but small. Looked at the wireless charging mats, but they need you to take the case off, which is more hassle than plugging in the charger. Very cool though... Depends how much they are.

Yeh, looked on ebay for the same ones and they came to about £20-25 altogether with postage, so I just went to the shop. I know you can get screen protectors for next to nothing, but they (in my experience) have all been universally, shit. This one is super thin, has low enough friction to use, and was dead easy to apply. £15 well spent IMO. Worth mentioning as well that it has a lifetime guarantee, if I ever rip/scratch/damage it, I just return it to the shop and they'll replace it. £30 isn't exactly a lot of money anyway lol, doesn't really bother me if I could have saved a fiver.

Yo, I just got a Galaxy S3, and after years of not being a "phone fanboy" and avoiding those gay screen protectors and silly clippy cases, I spent £30 this morning on an "Invisible Shield" (it's a screen protector but the shop boy said really cool things and made me buy it), and a silly clippy "casemate" case. What I want now though, is lots and lots of toys. Recommend things! First of all though, I want a generic extra case for it, like a gel padded, solid outer thing to protect it from hard knocks when I go climbing. Does such a thing exist?

Ad-Aware. Been using it for 10 years now, tis perfect.

I just got myself a Galaxy S3 so would also like to know these things. Also don't care about games.

No, I dumped her for cheating, then I got a new lady. -

I used to have that exact problem, I ended up dumping her for being a cheating sket and getting a new lady. No issues since day one. She doesn't do it for you, and you can't turn her into someone else. Sounds like the chemical attraction (or whatever make willies go ding), just isn't there. -
Yeh but that's what would appeal to me, a fairly big lazy engine with a flat torque curve, but so much torque/power that it'd be torque steering all over the place. Surely 120bhp in a Mini is enough for a b-road weapon? If you were doing a lot of track days or drag racing then sure, but I'm thinking for the future for a toy/project to play in on a sunny summers evening. If it's not enough, you can fit GSXR1100 cams and carbs for about 145bhp, then bored them out to 1340. How much is a "decent" enough projectish mini? I know I can get a Bandit engine for about £500 (although I'd probably buy a write off and break it, then sell the rest). Maybe I should look at a cheaper car to start with, like a Micra. Ah I see. So because the chain has to run vertically downwards (I'm guessing) it would foul on the gear lever shaft? If it was mounted in the back then it wouldn't be an issue though...
-
Ever considered a Bandit 1200 engine? I've never seen one in a Mini and I don't know why not. They make 120bhp with a loud can, maximum torque at 3500rpm but the curve stays pretty flat right to 7000ish, and they have a stupidly strong crank, gearbox and clutch. Seems like a very ripe contender for a conversion to me. Especially when you consider the amount of knowledge/experience there is available for when it comes to tuning them, although would you want any more than 120bhp in a mini?

If he got it yesterday, take it back.

I went out for a ride on my motorbike and broke down in the middle of nowhere for my 20th. Random people are incredibly chatty when you're pushing a bike in the middle of july in full leathers. I got a bit sweaty.

I got invited to an orgy with an old school mate, my best friend (female) and a rabbit.

If you're having to slip the clutch round corners to keep the revs up, change down a gear lol. If you're doing below 20mph then you're probably best off in first I'd say.

If you consider a broken link to some dude doing a parody of a camp guy reading a dirty book as messed up, then yeh...

Seen the prices of wedding cakes recently? There is a ridiculous amount of money to be made on cake making, providing you can get the work in obviously.

Neither. The Galaxy S3 is out now, get that. Fantastic phones.

Graphics driver stopping a program working? That's a new one lol... Sounds like bullshit to me. Have you tried uninstalling movie maker and reinstalling it again?

Good work on the E1 dude, I've still only seconded E1 5A. Looking at leading VS 4C soon though. Been climbing loads dude, where did you get that from lol? EDIT: You been checking up on my logbook lol? Stop bothering ages ago, I don't have time to push/train much so just doing it for fun at the moment. One day I might get all seriousface again and log every repeat and 2nd but at the moment, meh.

Robin, I wouldn't mod it because then it has been "obviously" tampered with. What is the stuff you got for your ECU? Believe it or not the make/model can make a huge difference. If it's just no-name paste, I'd recommend buying some posh stuff. It's normally around £5-7. In theory you could replace the thermal paste with better stuff, make sure the heatsink is free of dust and if there are no VOID stickers to break, you could still return it if that doesn't sort it.
