Just wondering if you can really notice a difference when having more engagements on a freewheel? At the moment I have the Try-All freewheel with 30 something engagements and I'm just wondering if I should bother upgrading to the Try-All with 108 engagements? Any help appreciated, Richard

I seriously doubt you have seen that video before. It was only put on youtube a night before it was put on the Forum so I don't see how you have seen that 5 months ago because it wasn't even made then.

That's us, we both ride Koxx Levelbosses. I remember you now. The video was filmed quite a long time before the competition at Braken Rocks. We found natural alot harder than street aswell. Hope you're still riding. Richard

This is Chris Vibert who is 12 years old and my younger brother. It was filmed about two months ago now and has competed in two trials events; one national and one club. All comments welcome! vvvvvvvv Linky vvvvvvvv

I know Ben and he definitely wouldn't be the person not to send anything when he said he would. I'm sure you'll recieve what you bought very soon. Don't worry! It might take a bit of time because it's all coming from Jersey in the Channel Islands. Richard

I think everyone has that trouble when they first start trying to sidehop. When I first learnt I was like you and sidehopped near my front foot. But after you get the hang of it that way, then you should be able to to sidehop the other way (but you have to be patient and practise). If you have your front foot away from the wall then you will find it easier to sidehop bigger stuff. Richard

Hi, I was just wondering if you had to have to have trials shoes when competing in the British Championships? Or can you just wear any shoes you want? Thanks Richard

Hi, I do motorcycle trials aswell as push bike trials. I have a Sherco 04 125 and ride in competitions nearly every week. My dad originally got me into to it and I now really enjoy it. Also I find that riding my push bike really helps my motorbike riding and vice versa. Does anyone else ride and if you do tell me what bike you ride, how much you ride and so on. Thanks, Richard

The Try-All freewheels are brilliant. They're an extra £15 than the Tensile but they work perfectly and ride nicely. I have had mine for about two years now and I have had no problems at all with it. I have never tried the Tensile but I can tell you that the Try-All freewheel is really really good. It comes down with a tool to take the old freewheel off also (if that helps). Richard

The best thing to do is to go straight to a really good bike because in the long run you will find that you improve quickly and it saves you buying a new bike later on. If you're looking for a nice light bike that easy to move about, then a Koxx or Monty would be a good buy. But these types of bikes aren't so strong and are renowned for snapping. If you're looking for a decent and really strong bike a Zoo Python or a Echo would be perfect. It's up to you what sort of bike you wish to have but take into account the sort of things you do when riding. Richard

Approach the obstacle on about a 45 degree angle and make sure you have some space in front of you to skip-hop. Do a couple of skip-hops (however many you feel comfortable with). After this, crouch a bit to get spring, then lift your bike as high as you can and place the front wheel on the obstacle and use the front wheel as well as your momentum to lift the back wheel up. Once you have done this make sure you don't loose your balance and make sure you are firmly on the obstacle. Richard

The Try-All Sticky Tyres are really good. The Maxxis Creepy Crawlers are also really good, but I think the Try-All ones are better because of their grip. They are bit more expensive and may wear out a bit quciker but worth the extra money if you're looking for quality. They really do 'stick' and will help you out alot. Richard

Hi, That's a really nice bike there! I'v a got a TY 80 and my friend has got a TY 175. They're great bikes aren't they! I used mine when i first started motorcycle trials and I now ride a Sherco 125. Do you use yours for motorcycle trials? The TY's ride really well I find aswell! Hopefully they will be worth something in a couple of years! Thanks, Richard

Help With Getting A Good Front Disk Brake?
Richard jersey replied to trialsboy_06's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Hi, I'v got the Magura Louise disc brake and they are really good if you're looking for a decent brake. But if you're looking for a little bit extra then the Hope Mono Trial is perfect. Both of these brakes are recommended and work really well, also in the long-run. Hope I'v helped, Richard -
The competiton I'm doing in March has different classes and there is also a begginner class inlcuding about three other different classes. Does anyone know what sort of standard each class is?? I think I'm going to decide what class a I do when i get there, so that i can look at the sections and see if I think I'll be able to do them. Richard

Hi, if you bleed your brakes, use water and quite alot of anti-freeze depending on how cold it gets where you live. This should stop them freezing and reduce the risk of loosing your brakes altogether! Just a bit of advice, Richard

Hi, there is sometimes trials on extreme sports (that is if you have Sky). It isn't the best but it is still well worth watching. It isn't normally on a program all about trials, but there is sometimes little clips of it on programs like 'genex'. It's better than nothing really. Hope I'v helped, Richard

The try-all freewheel is really good! I have had mine for a couple of years now, and nothing bad has happened to it. If i was you i would think about it, they run really nicely! Just a bit of advice. But if i was to choose between the monty and eno, i would definitely choose the eno! Hope I'v helped, Richard

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone competes in trials? I'm going to one in Hampshire on 4th March, is anyone else doing it? If anyone does compete, what are the trials like? I'v only ever seen professional competitions that are all on man-made obsticles and apparently the type of competition I'm doing is all on natural stuff. If anyone does compete and they know what the trials are like, can they tell me about them because I really want to know. Any information at all on push bike competitions will be much appreciated. Thanks, Richard
