i think it is likely that the patents have expired as has been said before.. becuase of the number of new brakes we are seeing. if this is the case im unsure as to why magura hhave not filed for a new patent. maybe they dont sell enough in coparison to their disc brakes? anyway i expect other companies will have a go too.. would like to see a hope one.

i cant see that being legal..there was some dispute over the legality of the deng brake but at least he has cash and a brand to help him make a deal

personally i think the pads have more to do with it. a few years ago nobody used vees (on the rear) now we have sooo many pads available it makes them a decent option. even a deore with heatsink pads was mint and what..50quid max for total set up?

there is no perfect gear. well there is but everybody's ill be different. best thing is to try things yourself. obviously if you are a powerhouse then you can psuh the higher gearing

its always important to remember the price of magura's a few years ago. also..if this has been in development for a few years... maybe he thought of the lever design style before magura relased their new lever?

if you calculate the clearance lost as a percentage and then the strength gained from a 22t sprocket.. will favour the sprocket im sure. the burn bashguards are fairly oversized anyway so can be machined a certian amount too.

the m10 tapping size is 8.5mm. it has a 1.5mm pitch. now what do you think would happen if you drilled it 10.2mm and tried to tap it 10mm? oops. 10.2mm is infact the tapping drill for an m12 thread. so the minium diamter of a pro2 axel must be 8.5mm.
