  1. AS it say's on the tin If anyone knows where I can find the resulst to the latest comp as I been told that they put them up else where before there own site. Thank you SY
  2. Looks like I don't have to tell you but . . . . . . the friend isn't good at building wheels!!!!! Try to tension the spokes if you really can't afford the bike shop. And ask if he has putt the same length spokes in each side?? and if he has it needs a rebuild, if he has put shorter in the drive side then it's a start. just have to hope they are the right length. Here's a guid to sort your wheel out a BIT so a little rideable (well alot more than it as at the mo) If you have a spoke key then sit down in a chair with the bike in front of you pointing away put the spoke key in your right hand pick the spoke next to the valve and place the key on it. Twist the wheel so it's at the top. Now this sounds funny but push with your thumb and pull with your fingers (if looking over the top down it would be clockwise), thats tightening the spoke. Do this to all the spokes one by one round the wheel by half a turn, this should tighten the wheel up!! Stop the pedal brake thing. Now this is a crude way of doing it but now start at the valve at the top again and only half turn all the drive side spokes (cog side). This should stop the wheel hitting the left side. Please note this is only temperary till you can get it in a bike shop. SY
  3. AAAAaaaagggghhhh nuts I meant Snail cams not chain tuggs, had a Dmr trailstar old habbits die hard.
  4. I had a mk1 ashton, and yes they are the one in the same hangers as the echo 05's Sy
  5. Hi I've got one of those lovely horzontal dropouts that solve the problem of rear mech. I've got the sugested 18 15 ratio. So it starts out fine with chain tugs about half way round, had to movethem once or twice and thought nothing of it as chains stretch. But it's gone so far that now the chain tugs are at the end of there travel and the chain is now slack!!!!! Is this normal? am I meant to take another link out as this has happened to two chains now( Thought the first one might have benn a bit crap or something) Please any help would be good even if it's someone I can contact to find out. Cheers SY
  6. Hi well would work but if you hav a bleed kit then do it normally. (1)Put the syringe, tube, and bolt in the bottom bleed nut then push the water through till nearly about half way up the syringe. (2)Then start tapping the cable and pistons for about a min with a spanner, this will vibrate the air to the top (lever end). (3)Start pushing the syringe again till it's nearly out of water. (4)Do the lever blt up (5)disconnect the syringe from the piston (6)do the bolt up on the piston (7)Then pull the lever and hope!!!!! If this works then it's ok obviously, but if no go you need a new bit somewhere. SY
  7. Aghh the only way is shorts as I keep ripping my jeans down the crotch, not good when you go comando !!!!!!!! Select or tarty t all the way. SY
  8. Thank you fellers for the info, never run cable discs before so a bit green on whats good and whats french.
  9. I'm looking to get one of these and just wondering what they are like as I've been offered one. All opinions welcome. Thank you Sy
  10. Only that you don't have the old favorite of knocking the rear mech off. otherwise not really as the tyre and rim are the same with so the contact to ground is the same. Maybe a smidge less time to engage as there is no slack inbetween pedal strocks that you can get on rear mechs when your backpedal then engage but not that you would really notice. Sy
  11. I've bought the echo brake and it is all good, but only get one if you got a wad of cash itching in your pocket as the other guy said!! or you brake your maggie. but they have a better pad movment as you don't have to have them so close to the rim. cos of the smaller piston in it for greater pad to lever movement. But I have to say there is one down point!!!!! buy longer screws for it as they are to short and thread your frame if your not carefull, or better still keep your maggie ones. Sy
  12. Thats a lie cos I'm in east sussex, Hastings to be precise. But you are right there aren't alot I know of down here. But I've only moved down here about a year ago. Hastings/Bexhill is a good place to ride, Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells, Where abouts you from anyway and I should be able to tell where's good in your area as I like traveling to new areas to ride. SY

SY
