  1. Thanks all, you have convinced me.. couple of washers behind the adaptor and it is running ok
  2. Frame is IS caliper is post mount. So I can shim the adaptor over no problem.. Maybe I'm over thinking it.. I have never had to shim a caliper / rotor with the post mount adjustability so assumed something on the hub was out of spec..
  3. Not on a trials bike it is on an Orange Five but there must be more of these on trials bikes than anywhere else Just brought the hubs second hand. ISO hub, HD axle + Fun bolts It looks like the end of the axle (Where it meets the frame) is too far away from from the disk mount on the hub shell. (By about 1mm) This means I can't line my calliper up with out bodging either the rotor further left or calliper further right with. Is there any adjustment for this in the hubs. To move the whole hub shell over on the axle. It preloads the bearings fine and there is no play.. Also what are people using for lube in these.. I've got some 10wt Synth engine oil in and it is silent.. A bit more of a hum would be nice!.. This is the rear hub I am talking about by the way. Front lines up fine
  4. Sounds ace. Fancy showing me round sometime?
  5. I'm down the road in Derby and also on a five. Looks like there are a fair few of us around here, would be good to sort a ride out sometime. Usually ride in the peak but through the occasional trail centre trip in.. Bestwood looks fun. Does it get muddy?

    So...

Not posted for ages - but stick my head in every so often and use to read through the happy / angry / car threads pretty regularly. Yes- they did turn into 'status updates' but the more interesting points generated discussion, and it was nice to read it all in one thread. Some of the posts had me in tears laughing which probably wouldn't have been posted if not for the mentioned threads.. (Poopipe and Anzo in the GF trouble thread in particular). If it is size of the threads that caused trouble could they not be archived and a new one opened. As someone has mentioned this happens on piston heads. For example: ]www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1096095&mid=0&nmt=Best+Smoker+Barges+-+1+-+5+Large+[Vol+3] I've not read all of this thread so points might not be valid / already covered..
  7. Not been on here for a while! Stopped riding trials to start climbing about 2 years ago. Currently climbing about E2/3 and f7a.. Muel (I've rode with you a few times but can't rememebr your name!) Do you climb with the Sheffield uni club much? I've just got back from El Chorro with them. I am not at the Uni I am working in Derby but know a few of them. Anyway I am about most weekends in the Peak somewhere so give me a shout if you fancy getting out..

  10. Adding anything to do with Intel seems to bump the price up massivly I've been looking at the I3 stuff to be even nearly affordable. Is alot to be saved by building them yourself generally? Maybe I will have to up the budget Would you say the 2500k (Is that I3 / 5 or 7?) and a GTX560 will run those games to a reasonable level?
  11. Cheers Muel! Ideally from somewhere that will build it for me. Don't forget I need a copy of windows in there as well Also have you heard of DinoPc. They seem miles cheaper than everyone else but online reviews are mixed..
  12. Would like to run Fallout 3 and Bad Company 2 ideally. Also GTA IV would be good but looks like it takes a beast of a machine to get it running well? Starting to think I would be better of with a console maybe. Cheaper and less hassle!
  13. Evening all, After a bit of PC advice. This is coming from Overclockers.co.uk custom build thingy.. Hoping someone in the know could have a glance over it and let me know that it is reasonable for £570 (Bare in mind that they are building it for me)Will it be capable of running most games at a fair level? - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply - Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card with built in Headphone Amp - OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (with FREE DIRT3 Game) - Use to follow computer stuff mildly but currently have no clue on what’s what and I am looking for some advice into the following spec for running a few games! Here is a list of what I have upgraded from the standard options (Found here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/syscon_int.php?prodid=FS-283-OK): - It comes to £570. (£500 with no O/S) - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply - Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card with built in Headphone Amp - OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB (2 X 2Gb) 1600MHz - Asus M4N68T-M LE NForce 630a (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard - AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 850 "95W Edition" 3.30GHz (Socket AM3) - Cooler Master Elite 335 Case - Black Seem like a reasonable setup? Any ideas on changes (Without making it more expensive!) - Asus M4N68T-M LE NForce 630a (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard - AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 850 "95W Edition" 3.30GHz (Socket AM3) - Cooler Master Elite 335 Case - Black Anyone have any advice on changes that could be made? Idealy with things that can be swaped about on here: but I am sure others could be made if I ring them! http://www.overclockers.co.uk/syscon_int.php?prodid=FS-283-OK

    New Phone

I'm loving it. First smart phone thingy I've had after running crappy phones and I'm completely amazed by what it can do. Its pretty easy to use. Took me about a day to get everything I wanted on there and to get use to it. Its good enough to have upset a few of my mates with iphones.. If you do go for giffgaff, rather than ordering a sim from the site, if you PM me your name and address and let me order it then we will both get £5 free credit They also work on phones locked to o2 so save yourself some pounds by getting a locked one..

    New Phone

Another vote for not going with a contract. I've got a desire (for £170) off ebay locked to o2 and put giffgaff PAYG sim in it. http://giffgaff.com/ Maybe the only network where unlimited data means unlimited?
  16. For a few days...ok

  17. Yup, the drive side pedal thread is snuffed though so they need helicoiling

    Prison

This is well worth a read and had me hooked. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=210&t=629763&mid=0&i=0&nmt=Prison%20Diary&mid=0
  19. http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=17727 This was pretty big on here a while back. There are 30 levels, 16 is the first proper hard one from memory. Search 3d lodgic and you might find the old thread.. Have fun!
  20. Hey I didn't realise you were on here, Good to see you got the video finished and up, loved watching it, it really stands out from alot of others Great choice of song as well! Makes me really want to get the bike going again but I've got so much work to do at the moment and no time. ...and on that note its back to essay writing for me Andy.
  21. Not going to be able to ride there but thought this might be of some intrest http://www.matlockmercury.co.uk/news/Vision-unveiled-for-Matlock-Halldale.6081391.jp And halldale quarry is 'matlock quarry's' propper name!
  22. It does sound like a tendon/ pulley injury. I had it a while ago and a two week break that sorted it out. (I'm guessing this was a mild injury as they usually take MUCH longer) At the time I had no idea what it was, but I had a similar injury through climbing which was defiantly the tendons so I’m assuming they were both the same thing! If this is the problem and you want it to go away read through this: http://www.davemacleod.com/articles/pullyinjuries.html And watch, and do this: http://www.davemacleod.com/articles/coldtreatment.html (It can be a bit of a ball ache and a boring half hour but it really works!) Just to add it usually happens on the ring finger at the base as this is the weakest part of your fingers. Tightly taping it up with a thin strip of tape will offer a good chunk of support whilst it recovers but I'd still say lay off the bike for a week and follow the advice on that video/his artical. Just too add for Chris4stars the doctors were also useless in helping me, they had no idea what it was. Find a climbing specific physio though and I’m sure they will have a dam good idea very quickly as it is a common injury.
  23. This ride still happening? Should be able to get down for a little while and weather isn't looking too bad!
  24. Hey, I'l let you know nearer the time be I'll be there. I'll try and drag a few others up as well.
