  1. Hey guys. Where exactly is the bracken comp location? Is it in the dense wooded area at/or near the quarry or is it at the end of the little road that the post code takes you to? Cheers.

  3. Got the official weight today using digital scales in a bike shop... 8.41Kg

Oh I didn't do it to get the lightest bike possible Prior to ordering anything for a new builds I make an Excel sheet with 5 columns, and weight is one of them so I can get a rough idea of the final weight. For Example Part____|____Choice____|_____Option_____|___Price___|___Weight___| Forks___ __V!Z Light 20"___ _Disc only, Black___ _£121.53___ __0.729Kg___ I shall be abusing it today if it doesn't tip it down with rain
  5. Thanks Laurence & Andrew I'm really enjoying the bike so far. And it's unbelievable how easy it is to throw about; the frame alone only weighs 1.291Kg, thats approximately 600g less than my old Zoo Python 09 frame

  7. Need to pop into town to a bike shop to find out the official real-world weight. But I made an Excel sheet that had all the parts, prices and weights listed. That said it'll weigh 8.53kg approx. So will see tomorrow.. Off to work now, parts list later.

  9. Thanks! Do you mean the thickness of the spokes being constant or that I've got straight spokes on the front right side? EDIT: Just checked my order from when I ordered the parts, and I ordered mutiny plain guage. So I guess that's the answer

  12. Ahhhh, right I see.. Hmmm, I'd forgot I had 3d glasses.. I'll do a few at lower res so they render faster.

Right, been tweaking things In 3D: •Frame material is a little darker to prevent reflections blowing out/over-exposing •Tyre material is a little darker with reshaped specular to better represent new tyres. •Pedals are slightly darker with fixed decal, not that they're very visible. •Reflective values of a few parts have been reduced (pedal arm, front gear, chain, rear brake silver body) •Tweaked valve material. •Hadle bars & stem specular value reduced to prevent over-exposure effect. •Engraved writing on the chain has darker material to give it a little definition on close-up. •Rear brake line reflective value slightly reduced. •Rear rim sidewall grind effect achieved with displace map rather than bump map, looks better to me I'd say. •Reversed front tyre tread pattern because it was backwards. In Post: •Brightened & added contrast to the renders using 'levels' in PSP. •Rendered off depth maps and used PSP to add depth of field to image 4, 5 & 6. Side Note: I've decided I'm presenting the bike in this way because I feel adding anything else will distract the eye from the actual model. But it's mostly to stay true-to-life; new trials frames, parts & whole bike builds are presented in this way in real life to best show the build quality, style & details. The very things we all like to see in 3D Render times @ 1680x1050: Render 1: 1hr 1min Render 2: 1hr 2min Render 3: 51min Render 4: 3hrs Render 5: 2hr 2min Render 6: 57min Batch render over night And thanks to everyone for all your comments, both during modelling and after I posted the last lot of renders. You've all helped me no end to completes this! Enjoy..
  15. Yea Changed it a little now. Will be in the new renders.. I've edited tyre material too so you'll see that next time I post up renders. I did actually have that the correct way round, I'm sure I did.. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out, another thing that'll be sorted out in the next renders Pics are hosted at imageshack. Had to use imageshack because images are too big to upload to trials forum file uploader That's the look I was going for. Wil be closer to it in the next renders though... Oh I know Well it is a unique sport that has some unseen things compared to normal bikes

  18. I don't have any Used to have silver eight ball dust caps, but almost ripped a valve off trying to undo it once, it'd been on there for so long and set itself And because I'm always playing with tyre pressures, I don't bother with them anymore
  19. Thanks for all your comments guys, much appreciated Only a small update.. Added few textured parts; BB, Bashring, Freewheel, Cranks, Pedals, Headset. Improved frame material; now happy with it. Changed tyre material slightly. Made the specular wider and lower so they appear less glossy. Removed environment but kept it visible to reflections. Was thinking about doing this in the end, but chimpanzyyyy help that decision Won't be updating now untill I've finished or almost finished, because I'm sure these small update are annoying and you're just expecting it to be finished every time I post So I shall update within a week or so I'd say.   20. Hey guys. Been several days, but done some materials... Renders straight out of Cinema 4D unedited. Let me know what you think, I'm still tweaking.. The environment isn't final by the way, I just needed something to reflect (It's also from an old project, so not great)

  23. Was confused for a sec there lol.. But yea does look like a face Well.. Made a start on the frame material as it's used on the biggest parts, frame & forks... I think it looks about right with the slightly brushed metal look to it.. What you think?
