Reliability will always be an issue when you mess with things like that, especially with a freehub. And if it's a fixed hub, they're cheap enough to just replace with a correct one!

Boil some water in a pan, 5-8 mins of mega boiling water should be enough to break the glue seal. 2 pairs of pliers, 1 holding the pad and one holding the packing and pull apart gently. If it doens't work, boil it for longer. You CAN put them in the oven, but last time I did that the pads bubbles and died.

Yeeeeeeeeeah, but they happen at the same time. Amount of punctures is directly related to the amount of time you take your wheel/tyre off.

My mate Reece("Pogo" on here) did exactly the same thing. So he took it apart himself 'cause he was so fed up of it and serviced it, works fine now.

How long was it before it snapped? If he kept on repairing/rejoining it, it was bound to keep snapping. EDIT: @ Jack/Ash.
